"Okay," Ms. Smith said. "Stand in a circle," she told all of us. I stood by a girl I barely knew by a table. The cafeteria seemed so empty.
I sighed. I hated 'get to know you' games. I looked around quickly at all the kids. I hated moving schools, too. There were a few skinny girls who were standing by each other. They looked at me and laughed. I looked away quickly. There was a group of five guys who were all pretty cute. There were three brown haired ones- a curly one, a windblown one, and a shorter haired one- a black haired one, and a bright blonde one. The one with curly brown hair saw me staring and smiled, showing off his dimples.
I quickly looked away and smiled to myself. I looked back up at them after a few seconds to find all of them staring at me. They all smiled and waved, sending the skinny girls and everyone else glaring at me. The blood rushed up to my cheeks and I waved shortly. They smiled and briefly laughed to each other.
"Okay. So the basics are you throw the ball at someone and say their name. Simple enough?" she explained. Everybody nodded. She handed a tennis ball to a girl near her and rolled the ball over and over in her hands.
"Chris," she smiled, throwing it at a boy next to me.
CRAP. I didn't know anyone's name. A few more throws and it was thrown to the guy with the windblown hair. The girl that threw it smiled nervously. I bet she liked him.
"Louis," she said. I smiled. He threw it to the one with the short brown hair.
"Liam!" he shouted. Liam threw it to the black haired one, Zayn, who threw it to Harry. Harry looked at me for two seconds and smiled, just about to throw it. I shook my head rapidly. No! I didn't know!
He frowned a bit and the blonde guy caught it. I slowly awaited his name.
"Niall," Harry said blandly. I smiled. It was a wonderful name. He looked at me and I stopped. The ball came hurling towards me and I caught it before it would've nailed me in the stomach.
"(Y/N)," he smiled. How did he know my name?
I looked at the teacher. I took a shot at it. I said her name and she looked at me confusedly.
"I don't know anyone's name," I said shyly. She smiled falsely.
"That's fine," she rolled her eyes. When we finished with everyone, she took the ball again. "Okay, now remember who you threw it to because we're gonna do it over again until we can do it with two balls at time or more," she raised her eyebrows. My eyes flickered over to Niall, who was already staring and smiling.
I blushed and looked away. I leaned against the table and it slid on its wheels away from me. I widened my eyes and stood up, pulling it back to where it had been. I looked around and they had already started throwing the ball. I waited and watched the guys pass it around.
As it fell into Harry's hands, he looked at me and blew a kiss, smiling afterwards. I blushed. He said Niall's name. I looked to him. His face was red and his eyebrows were pulled together. He looked at me with anger in his eyes and suddenly the ball was hurtling towards me again. I couldn't even catch it before it smacked me in the face with so much force and surprise that I fell backwards onto the table. I felt it roll out from underneath me and my head hit the stone cold floor as I heard a scream.
Gone.
<NIALL'S POV>
I watched as Harry blew her a kiss and smiled. She smiled and blushed. No! I was the one who had known her name! He doesn't get her.
I felt the anger rise up inside of me as he said my name. I clenched the ball in my fist and before I knew what I had done, the ball was flying towards her face.
