In the Dark (Request)

"Hide and seek in the dark," Melody repeated, raising her eyebrows at the six of us.

"What do you do?" Liam wondered, speaking up for all of us.

"You find one person in the dark, and the rest of us choose a dare you two have to do," she explained, shrugging.

"Sounds interesting," Harry smiled, and we all hesitated, but we went along with it.

On the count of three, Melody shut the lights off in her pitch-dark, no windowed guest room, clear of furniture. She was rich, so it was pretty big, too.

"Go!" she exclaimed, and I stood perfectly still. I heard laughs echoing around the room, but then someone grabbed my shoulder.

"Therese?" Niall wondered, but I only shushed him. He obeyed, and I felt his body heat next to me as we waited for everyone else to finish. Melody wasn't playing, so we would have even numbers.

"Is everyone done?" she called as the noise ceased. We answered yes, and she flipped on the lights.

I was with Niall, Zayn was with Liam, and Harry was with Louis.

"Time for the dares," Melody exclaimed enthusiastically. I rolled my eyes slightly, smiling.

We went in order around the room; Harry and Louis, Liam and Zayn, and last was the two of us. I was nervous.

"What should they do?" Melody wondered, a sparkle of mischievousness in her eyes. They whispered among themselves while I tried to look bored.

"Kiss!" she exclaimed, and I watched all of them smirk.

I looked to Niall, who was blushing, and did the same.

"Fine," I grumbled, a little unsure. "But can you turn the lights off?" I requested, listening to them hoot and holler at us.

I stared at Niall, who couldn't meet my eyes, until the lights went out. He took my waist and I by surprise, pulling me closer to him and pressing his lips down onto mine.

At first I was alarmed, but then I relaxed into it, starting to feel something form in the pit of my stomach. That only continued when I let our lips move against each other.

The lights switched on, and Niall let go of me abruptly. I breathed out, staring up at him.

"I liked that," I sighed, watching his face light up and a smile come to his lips.

"I like you."
