I felt like I was coughing up my lungs, but it wasn't as much of a problem to me as it was to Niall. He was convinced I was dying, pressuring me to go to the doctor's.
When I finally agreed, he looked happier than ever. I put on something comfortable (pic on the side), but warm -- it was winter -- and he drove me there, speeding a little just to add to my anxiety.
"I'm completely fine," I reassured him, coughing right afterwards. He gave me a look, unbuckling my seatbelt for me after opening my door and grabbing my bag.
"I'm just making sure that you're really alright," he whispered as he filled out the paperwork. He furrowed his eyebrows down at the page, his hand holding the pen just hovering for a moment.
"When's your birthday?" he wondered, staring up at me. My mouth dropped, and he let out a breathy laugh, nudging my knee with his own.
"I'm joking," he smiled, continuing. We waited for another half an hour, but there weren't that many people there, so we got in quite quickly.
I swung my feet back and forth in the doctor's office, coughing every once and a while. Niall was convinced that something serious was wrong with me, and the doctor looked pretty annoyed when he would interrupt my explanations and answers to his questions.
He then did a regular examination, looking in my ears, nose and mouth and then checking my breathing and heart.
He was relatively young and attractive, so Niall lightly fumed in the corner, giving me amusement while I struggled not to hack up all my germs on the doctor.
"All it seems like is a cold, with mucus situated specifically in the lungs, at least, more than usual," he smiled at me, sitting back down on his stool.
I smirked at Niall, giving him the I told you so look.
"Are you sure?" he inquired, furrowing his eyebrows at the both of us.
"I am a doctor," the doctor scoffed. He glanced back at me. "Just take some generic cold medicine as instructed and stay out of the cold, and you should be better in no time," he smiled, making me sigh happily.
"Thank you," I smiled lightly, hopping off the table. Niall quickly took my hand, and we walked out together. We had to check out, and his hand met my waist as I finished signing and handing back the clipboard to the lady at the desk. She smiled politely, but she seemed annoyed.
"You're okay," he breathed into my ear, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"I told you I was," I chuckled, turning only to have him aggressively press his lips to mine, slamming the small of my back into the counter that jutted from the window where the lady sat.
I continued kissing him, blushing to know that she was staring at us.
"Niall," I let out, pushing him off of me. He furrowed his eyebrows at me.
"What's wrong?" he whispered urgently, making me smile.
"You'll get sick," I shrugged lightly. He rolled his eyes.
"Like I care," he scoffed, pressing himself against me once more.
