I smiled at Denise, cradling Theo in my arms. (a/n: this is when Theo was still a baby)
"Thanks, Rachel," she grinned, stepping down the steps of the porch. I waved goodbye as she got into her car and drove off, feeling Niall wrap his arms around my waist from behind.
"Hi, Theo!" he exclaimed, his face lighting up. "Come to Uncle Niall," he beamed, stealing the baby from me.
"We'll be looking after him for the weekend," I told him, sitting down on the couch. He bounced him around, completely ignoring my comment.
"Niall," I called, making him look up at me.
"Yeah," he smiled, glancing back at Theo.
"Did you hear me?" I giggled, standing up once again.
"Yeah," he shrugged, spinning around in a circle, making Theo laugh.
"Then what did I say?" I smirked, crossing my arms.
"I don't know," he pouted, making me laugh. I kissed his cheek, walking towards our bedroom, to grab my phone to make sure Denise could contact me.
"You know, I should do that more often!" he yelled to me, and I blushed.
We played with Theo for a while, but soon he started crying.
I put him to sleep in our room in a crib we used to use for the twins. They had grown out of it.
When the two boys, Dan and Don, woke up, they watched television for a while. Niall made the mistake of giving them Lucky Charms for breakfast, so they were very hyper. They were running around and jumping all over Niall, but they left me alone because of my pregnancy. The twins were nearly six, and I was seven months pregnant with another baby.
You could say I liked children.
The twins made so much noise that it woke Theo, and I had to go into our room and give him some formula. I held his little bottle for him, smiling.
Niall opened the door and stepped in, flinching when he saw me.
"Oh, I didn't know you were in here," he chuckled, starting to walk out.
"Are you trying to hide?" I smirked, raising an eyebrow at him. He tried to look unsuspicious, but his acting skills didn't apply here.
"No," he lied, making me laugh.
"Are they wrecking the house?" I wondered, glancing down at Theo.
"I don't think so-" We both sighed as we heard something crash in the living room.
"Yes," he revised, rushing to see what had happened.
That happened a couple more times, too. I found him in the shower when I went to the bathroom, and then in the closet when I had to change after Theo barfed on me.
"What are you hiding for?" I wondered, a little irritated. I didn't want to have to do all of the work.
"They don't like me," he sighed, slumping down into a chair after he stepped out of the closet.
"They're our kids, of course they do!" I laughed, trying to make him feel better.
"They keep hitting me and saying I'm too big and can't play with them," he pouted, making me want to kiss him.
"Then don't be big," I shrugged, making him laugh. "You just have to be patient with them." He sighed.
"I was trying."
"Hiding in the shower is not trying," I smirked, making him smile.
"Hey. Don't make fun of me," he laughed, sighing afterwards.
"I love you," he spoke, giving me a small smile. I blinked at him, wondering why he chose to say that.
"I love you, too," I smiled, kissing him with Theo between us. He pulled away, smiling down at the baby in my arms.
"We still have three more days of this," I whispered, making him groan. I laughed, but it was a learning period for us. We learned that we needed each other more than anything.
