I flipped through the channels, whistling a random tune. I was insanely bored and needed something to do. I finally settled on Friends, knowing I had seen the episode a thousand times but not caring. A notification from my phone sounded off in my back pocket, but I ignored it.
I heard a noise behind me, since the couch wasn't against a wall, and I looked behind me. I saw our cat, Millie, run up to me and calmed down. Niall was out at the store, and I was a little paranoid.
And I should have been.
Millie jumped onto the back of the couch, meowing softly.
"Hi, sweety," I smiled, pulling her into my lap so I could continue watching. I laughed a few times, stroking her soft, orange fur.
Suddenly, I felt a bag slip over my head, obscuring my vision and hindering my breathing. I let out a scream, squirming and trying to escape. They tied the bag closed around my neck as I started to hyperventilate.
I was then lifted up and over the guy's shoulder, still screaming. I heard a car door open after mine slammed shut, and was thrown down onto what I guessed was the car seat.
"Shut up!" I heard him roar, trying to be quiet but failing. He hit me sharply over the head, causing me to hit it on the parallel door. I shut up.
The panic set in, and everything ran through my head until it stopped at one thing.
Niall.

I got out of the car after I parked it on the backside of the house, popping open the trunk. I pulled out a few groceries before seeing a car pulling into our driveway. I walked up, confused as to who it was.
I waved and smiled politely, watching as he rolled down the window after I stopped in front of him.
"Hey," I said, shaking his hand. He gave me a small smile, looking panicked. "Something I can help you with?" I wondered, hearing a few muffled yells from the backseat. He met my eyes.
"No, I'm just turning around," he said. I looked in the backseat, but my vision was blocked by his height. The windows were blacked out, and I grew suspicious.
"My kid's having a tantrum because he wants to 'be a caterpillar in my blanket,'" he explained, chuckling a little at the end. I laughed falsely, feeling like it was strange thing for a kid to say.
"Have a nice night. I'm Niall," I said, stepping away from the car abit.
"Liam," he responded. I nodded, waving as he backed out. His licence plate was from New Jersey, so I figured he had gotten lost due to living five states away.
I continued taking the groceries inside, yelling hello to Stacia. She didn't answer.
"Stacia?" I called, walking into the living room where Friends was playing. I shut off the TV, pet Millie, and searched the rest of the house.
I couldn't find her and began to grow suspicious. Something didn't feel right.
I thought back to the guy in the car and his kid. I don't know how, but everything kind of fit together and a scream bubbled up inside me. The kid in the backseat didn't sound like a kid.
"Stacia!" I exclaimed, running out the front door and throwing open the car door, starting the ignition.
I needed to find her.
