I stood at the snack table, a little too nervous to eat. I bounced my leg, knowing that I was about to meet the five guys I had secretly obsessed over for four years.

Hopefully.

I had gotten a job under Management as an assistant to Paul. Why? He said he 'needed' one. But, hey. I wasn't complaining.

The guys came out of the dressing room, and they walked towards me. I tried to act normal, but it didn't work.

I pretended I had gotten a call, picking up my phone and stepping a few feet away.

"Hello?" I pretended, feeling so stupid. I mean, I would be working with them for the rest of their tour, so why was I so nervous?

"Yeah, I'm great," I continued, seeing them all stop at the table and pick at a few things. They were supposed to be onstage in a few minutes.

"I'd love to talk, but I've got to run," I sighed, seeing Niall look my way.

"Yep, talk to you soon...Greg," I fumbled, pretending to hang up. I sighed in relief, slipping my phone back into my pocket. I looked up at them, and Niall was still staring at me. I blushed, waving awkwardly. He walked over to me, smiling briefly before shaking my hand.

"Greg, huh?" he spoke. I furrowed my eyebrows, and then remembered.

"Yeah. He's my...friend," I lied, knowing I knew no one named Greg.

"It's my brother's name," he shrugged.

"Oh. Cool," I smiled, acting like I didn't know that already.

"And your name?" he continued with the awkward conversation.

"Kayla," I smiled, inhaling and exhaling to the best of my ability.

"Niall," he replied, making me feel a little over excited. "May I ask why you're here?" My eyes widened like I was in trouble.

"Yeah, of course," I laughed nervously. "I'm Paul's new assistant," I finally answered. He nodded.

"I heard him talking about that. I just didn't think it would be a girl," he shrugged, chuckling afterwards. "Not such a pretty one, anyway," he mumbled.

"Well, I technically work under Management," I shrugged, not wanting to stop talking to him. Honestly, it was the best I said all day. Maybe the best thing I ever said to him.

"Management, huh?" he joked, smirking at me. "And are you gonna tell me what to do, too?" I giggled, earning a big grin from him.

"Maybe," I shrugged, trying to contain my equally large smile.

"Well then, maybe, I should watch out," he teased, flashing me a wink.

"Yeah. I think you should," I played along. He smiled, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

Abit of silence made me open up.

"I wasn't on the phone. I was just really nervous to meet you guys, so I stalled," I told him, watching him smile.

"I didn't know Management could get nervous," he said in false awe. I pretended with him, dropping my jaw for his comedic pleasure. "I thought that's what they were supposed to do to me," he teased, not even continuing with his act after he finished.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Niall Horan!" I joked, gesturing to him. He bowed, and I giggled.

"Niall! It's show time," Paul called, eyeing me for a second.

"See ya, Management," he called, starting to run away.

"Is that what you're going to call me?" I asked, stopping him. He beamed at me.

"Yeah. Maybe I'll even come to like Management," he shrugged, letting me get the metaphor and sending a shiver down my spine. "You should watch out," he winked, copying our earlier conversation.

"I think I should," I played along. He was supposed to run away, but he just stood there staring at me. I shifted under his gaze.

"Niall?" I called. He jumped.

"Yeah, sorry," he grinned, running a hand through his hair. I watched him run to me once more, steadying himself and me by putting a hand on waist, leaning over and placing a kiss on my forehead.

"I'll see you after the show, Management."
