"You're not going to call me, you never do," I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Why wouldn't I, you're my girlfriend," he sighed, shaking his head with his suitcase next to his leg.
"Why don't you just go?" I asked, no conviction in my voice. He glared at me, finally having enough.
"I will. Don't expect any calls from your ex-boyfriend," he sneered, making my fists clench up.
"I wasn't going to, anyway!" I exclaimed, pushing away the guilty feeling that I was having. He looked like he wanted to say something, pulling his hand out of his pocket, but he shook his head.
"Bye, Jess," he breathed out, taking his luggage and hauling it out the door. I stood there for a few minutes, feeling pretty terrible. I blinked off some tears, telling myself that I shouldn't be upset.
But how could I not be? He was my boyfriend, or was, and I loved him. A lot. Sometimes certain unknown forces took hold of me and made me do things I would regret later.
So I let myself cry, knowing that for once I had really messed up, letting go of Niall Horan on the day he left for tour.
.
That night I was just sort of laying on bed, which I had been doing for a few hours, just staring at the wall and thinking about nonsense.
I hear my phone ring, groaning. The caller read Niall, and without even thinking, I pressed answer to his Skype call.
"What? No!" I yelled at myself, throwing the phone face-down onto my bed. I breathed in and out quickly, wondering what to do.
"Jess? Please just talk to me," I heard him say through the phone. I chewed on my lip, staying quiet and just staring at it.
"I'm not going to say it was just my fault because we were both acting pretty stupid," he started, making me nod in agreement. "But, I am sorry." I blinked at his words, slowly reaching for the phone.
"Jessica?" I stopped, slightly confused as to why I was so reluctant. I picked up the phone, letting him see my face.
"I'm sorry, too," I spoke, staring into the camera. His face lit up, and I wondered where he was.
"Where are you?" I wondered, trying to lighten the mood. He lifted his eyebrows, seeming surprised that I had asked.
"I'm on the tour bus. It's pretty dark," he told me, smiling. "Oh!" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"I left something for you on the porch," he grinned, making me smile a little.
"What is it?" I asked while standing up and walking towards the front door.
"A surprise," he smirked before ending the call. I stopped in my tracks, confused. I pulled open the door, shoving my phone in my pocket.
I looked down, seeing him, right there on one knee. I shook my head, covering my smile with my hands.
"Will you marry me?" I found it hard to breathe. "I would have done it earlier, but we got distracted and-" I fell down next to him, squealing.
"Yes, yes, yes!" I exclaimed, and we never fought for such petty reasons ever again.
