Niall's POV

I leaned forward and tapped her shoulder, smiling to myself. She glanced back at me as the teacher continued talking. I tried to flash her a smile, but she turned back around quicker than I could do anything.

I sighed in frustration, trying to get her attention. I tried throwing the note on her desk, but I knew I would only miss.

"(Y/N)," I whispered. She shook her head without looking back. I began to get annoyed but stopped myself.

This is (Y/N) we're talking about.

"Hey," I whispered again, thrusting the note in her direction. She turned at the waist, trying to hide her smile.

"What?" she yelled in a small voice. I handed her the note, smiling to myself. I hoped she would like it.

"Would you like to share that with the class, Ms. (Y/L/N)?" the teacher called out to her. She turned back around again, her face going pale.

"I-" she started.

"Come up here, please," the teacher ordered. Slowly standing up, she walked to the front of the classroom and turned towards all of us. She was blushing; she was extremely embarrassed. She never got in trouble.

"Please read the note," he said, looking annoyed. I was angry at the teacher and myself for her infraction.

"D-dear (Y/N)," she said nervously. I realized what she was about to say out loud. "Will you go to prom with me?" Her eyes met mine as a chorus of aww's sounded off. She smiled widely.

"This couldn't have waited until later?" she laughed. I shook my head, beaming at her. She dropped the paper and ran up to me, enveloping me in her arms.

"Is that a yes, then?" I asked, enjoying the closeness of her warm and happy self. She pulled away, a giant smile on her face. She let out a sigh and looked down briefly.

"I thought you would never ask," she replied, blushing at me. I reached over and kissed her on the cheek.

"Yes, Niall."
