I sighed as I grabbed the large stack of pizzas from the backseat. The delivery had been 20 minutes away, and it was raining at night. I stuffed the keys in my pocket next to the receipt and ran up to the door of the mansion-like house.
I pushed on the doorbell once, shaking raindrops off my shirt. The tower of pizzas was blocking my vision, and my bad mood made me want to throw them in the shrubs to my left. Why did they need those many pizzas anyways?
The door finally opened, and I peaked my head around the stack to give a fake smile.
"Hi, yeah. Delivery for Horan?" I asked dubiously. The blonde nodded and smiled widely, taking the pizzas from me. Thunder cracked loudly in the distance, and the rain came down faster.
"Liam!" the blonde called into the house. Another guy came running up, and I noticed they were both very good looking.
Liam took the pizzas from the blonde, walking back into the house. I handed him the receipt to sign and he handed me the cash. He signed quickly, a smile still on his face.
When he handed me back the receipt, our fingers momentarily got tangled.
"Sorry," I chuckled nervously. He shrugged.
"I'm Niall," he introduced. I furrowed my eyebrows together.
"As in Niall from One Direction?" I asked. He nodded. I heard more thunder and lightning lit up the sky.
"Do you wanna come inside? It's pretty nasty out there," he offered.
"I really have to get back to work-" I tried to say.
"Just until it dies down," he suggested. I chewed on my lip, thinking of the excuse I would have to give to my manager. I put one foot inside the house and he smiled, closing the door quickly behind me.
"What's your name?" he asked politely as I took my wet shoes off.
"Juliet," I answered, looking back up at him in the dim lighting. He had really nice eyes.
"That's a lovely name," he smiled at me. I felt a blush rise in my cheeks and looked down. "C'mon. It's just me and a few friends hanging out," he explained. I sighed in relief. With the amount of pizzas he had ordered I thought he was running a hotel.
We walked into the living room and eight people sat around. One Direction and all of their girlfriends, I guessed. Each guy had a girl except Niall, and for a second I felt like he was just using me.
I shook it off, knowing that I wouldn't have to be there longer than the rain, which couldn't be that long. Right?
He told me to sit down, and I complied. Everyone stared at me, and music played in the background. The television was on as well, and they all had a slice of pizza and a drink.
"This is Juliet," Niall said, sitting down to my left. I gave a small smile and heard a few hellos ring out in the awkward silence.
They continued talking after I didn't say anything else, and I must have been there for hours. They talked about all the random things that they could, and I rejected any attempts to initiate me into the conversation.
By the time the thunder's crackle became quieter, I had noticed how close Niall was to me. A few minutes after I noticed, I watched his hand get closer and closer to mine. Our sides were pressed up against each other already, so my body was tingling with anticipation to see what his hand would feel like in mine.
Our hands were mostly hidden from everyone else, so within a few seconds, I decided to take his hand. Fireworks went off inside of me, and I let out a small smile. His body relaxed against mine, and I blushed as he sighed.
I began to get into the conversation, and soon enough all of us were laughing like old friends.
"I think the rain has stopped," Harry said shortly after we began to get along. I looked out the window, watching water drip from nearby rooftops.
"Yeah. I better be off," I sighed, slipping my hand out of Niall's. He had suggested that we needed to hang out more, and it made me excited.
"See ya," they all said. I got a, "I had fun," from Liam as well. I waved goodbye and went to put my shoes on.
"Hey," Niall said as he walked up to me by the doorway. I smiled at him widely. I made sure I had everything, and then sighed.
"I had a really good time, Niall. Thanks for letting me stay," I said, looking into his eyes.
"So did I. You should come around again, love," he offered. I shrugged, thinking about a relationship with him.
"I'll see, but I'm pretty busy all the time. With work and-"
I felt lips press to mine and my words ceased. He used his hands to pull my waist closer to him, and I closed my eyes. He let go too soon, and I bit my tongue from saying anything.
"Please? I really like you." I felt his hands slip from my waist and looked back up at him. I nodded once and watched his smile come back.
"Perfect."
