I woke up that morning shivering, huddled up next to a shirtless Niall, but shivering nonetheless.
"Niall," I sighed, poking his cheek. He loosed his hold on me, letting out a tired moan, still half asleep. "Niall," I said again, giggling when he scrunched up his nose.
"I'm trying to sleep," he mumbled, snuggling closer to me. I pushed him off of me, pulling his arms out from around my waist and falling out of bed, literally.
"Are you okay?" Niall asked, pulling himself over to look at me from the edge of the bed. I giggled, rubbing my eyes and shivering.
"I got you to wake up, so yeah, I'm fine," I smirked triumphantly. He rolled his eyes, sitting up on the bed. I stood up, stretched, and then looked out the window, seeing all of the pretty, new, white snow on the ground.
"If you help me make breakfast," I started, turning back to him and glancing at the time. It was nearly noon. "I mean, lunch, then we'll go outside and play in the snow later," I smiled, making him light up as well.
"Deal." I grinned, getting dressed in something that let me be warm instead of freezing (pic on the side). We went into the kitchen and still decided to make waffles, bacon and eggs, sitting down for 'brunch' at the table.
"It's nearly Christmas," I commented, glancing at him. He hummed at me, continuing to eat. Christmas stressed me, and he knew that quite well. We finished eating, but we had made a lot, so I groaned fifty times in two minutes.
"I'm full," I complained, watching him get up and clean the dishes for me. I went and laid on the couch, turning on the television.
"Are we still going outside?" he wondered, walking into the living room. I glanced at him, sitting up.
"After we digest, yeah," I teased, watching him smile and then sit down next to me. Somehow, after ten minutes or so, we were cuddled up on the couch, and I was falling asleep again.
What seemed like a few seconds later, Niall was shaking me awake.
"It's two, Courtney," he mumbled, and I realized I was alone on the couch. I yawned and blinked up at him, seeing him grin.
"You're so cute," he spoke softly, leaning down to kiss my cheek. I thought he had wanted a real kiss, so I blushed when he swerved away from that.
Before he pulled away, he pulled me up with him, telling me to go get my snow gear on. I put on my snow pants, my inexpensive coat, and some boots.
He and I walked outside in the cold air and out onto the front lawn.
"It's like half a foot deep," I spoke in awe, wondering how hard it had been snowing for that to happen. All of a sudden, Niall flopped down into the snow, pulling me with him.
"I'm still tired," he groaned while I turned onto my back, feeling the cold snow seep into my clothes. "I could fall asleep right here," he sighed, glancing at me. I looked at him, brushing off the snow on my cheek after I turned away.
"Wouldn't you be cold?" I pointed out, already feeling myself start to turn into an icicle.
"Yeah," he shrugged like it wasn't a big deal.
"Then how would you sleep?" I wondered, furrowing my eyebrows as light snow started to fall from the off-white sky.
"Because, Courtney. You're my home," he spoke. I turned to him, still looking confused. "Wherever you are is where I'm most comfortable," he blushed, making me smile.
"I love you, too."
