My eyes strained to open, trying to see who was yelling at me.
"Get up get up get up GET UP!" they yelled. My brain tried to register who's voice that was, but it was focusing on opening my eyes.
A small moan was all that passed my lips. I finally pried my eyes open and saw bright blonde hair and a smiling face right next to mine.
Niall.
I smiled.
"Hey," I sighed, stretching from my slumber. "What time is it?" I asked, rubbing both my eyes, trying to make them stay open.
"Five," he answered, sitting down next to me. I sat up quickly and looked at him, then out the window. It was dark, and I knew he didn't mean in the afternoon.
"Why?" I asked in a shrill tone.
"We're going on a road trip," he announced like it was super important. I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"Where are we going?" I asked, getting up and grabbing a suitcase from under my bed. My shorts had ridden up my thighs, and I quickly pulled them back down. I looked up at him and he was smirking at me. A blush rose to my cheeks, and I looked away, packing some necessary things from around my room.
"Anywhere and everywhere." I smiled widely at him. "We leave at dawn." I stared out the window at the lightening sky, and knew that day would be good.
I put on my outfit and dragged my suitcase into the kitchen where he was gathering some food. I saw the sunrise colors on the horizon and knew we would leave soon.
"Who's driving first?" I asked, brushing my teeth and putting my hair up.
"I stayed up all night thinking about this and packing, so you can just-" I cut him off by laughing and walking away. He smiled at me widely.
We got everything into the car, then watched the sun come up since we could see the ocean from my flat.
"Ready?" he asked me. I nodded, and he pulled me into a hug.
A shiver ran down the length of my spine, and I smiled. We had been real good friends for a long time, but you how it goes; I would never have the courage to tell him how I felt about him.
I got into the car and we were off.
We drove for hours on end, pointing out weird cars or pretty landscapes. We finally passed into Arizona after travelling from the coast in California. When I began to take the freeway towards the Grand Canyon Niall fell asleep.
I drove for a long time until I had to stop for gas. I stood outside in the warm summer air, and some guy came up to me.
"Are you heading east?" he asked me. I looked up at him and noticed he was crying. The gas pump stopped at the same time, and I quickly returned it to it's slot.
"What's wrong?" I asked quickly. He sniffled once.
"My mom's in the hospital and-" He hiccuped. "I need to get there, but my car-hiccup-broke down," he explained. I nodded, telling him to get into the car while I paid.
I got into the car, and heard Niall snore once. I turned to look at him in the backseat.
"What's your name?" I asked nicely and quietly.
"Liam," he answered, seeming to have calmed down some. I smiled. He continued to tell me where I was going, and then we were off again.
"I'll get you there as fast as I can," I assured him. He smiled and I realized he was very attractive. I turned away.
