Chapter 12

The postman came today. I read the letter. "Oh, crap..." I said walking up to Vanilla handing her the letter and hugging her. She read the letter and she stared on in horror. "Not again..." she said, extremely upset. "It's okay. This should be the last time. I'll be there to help you this time." I said reassuringly. Her expression lightened a bit and Chocola walked out. I handed her the letter and her expression dropped. I hugged her reassuringly. She cheered up a bit, "This should be the last time." I told her. "I'll take you there this time and help you out, and how about a wager?" I said, pulling out the small bag of catmint. Their eyes lit up. "Okay!" they said in unison, I told Kashou that I'd take them to the place to take their bell tests again and that this should be the last time they'd have to take it. I hopped on my motorcycle and I sat Chocola behind me and had Vanilla carefully sit in my lap. I was able to pull her into my trench coat easily because it was new and much larger than my old one, so wrapping one arm around her I was able to keep her in place while we drove to the building. Once we got there they started testing. If they got an 80 or higher I'd give them some catmint, and Shigure would give them some tuna for every question they got right. They passed with an 85 and right before Shigure gave them their tuna I snuck up behind her and stole it before she could. Her face turned to worry as she rummaged around faster and faster trying to find it before I put a hand on her shoulder and handed Chocola and Vanilla the tuna. After they finished their tuna I handed them a little bit of the catmint and they happily nibbled on it. I could barely resist getting myself a tiny pinch too, but I held strong and slipped it back in my trench coat. They started feeling the effects almost immediately as I walked Chocola to her room and pulled Vanilla over to me, she was blushing a lot and then she kissed me. She tasted like catmint, I kissed her too and then pulled her on to me and she was purring a lot, like hard enough that I started purring no matter how much I tried not to, but I went with it and hugged her, and we quickly fell asleep together. It was the beginning of winter in japan and no one but Kashou had a winter coat so I wrapped Vanilla in my trench coat and bought myself another trench coat and this one was lined in wool so it was nice and warm. Then since Chocola is about the same size as Vanilla I used her measurements to buy Chocola one too. Vanilla's was a nice sky blue and Chocola's was red. I once again transferred my random assortment of junk from my pockets and while I was doing so I found some butterscotch candies. I finished moving my stuff into my new trench coat and popped one in my mouth and handed Vanilla one too. "What is it?" she said "Butterscotch. It's a candy, if I were to describe how it tastes it's kind of sweet and kind of salty, it may sound strange but I find it to be pretty tasty." I told her. She stuck it in her mouth. "It tastes interesting." she said. She put on her winter jacket and I folded up my trench coat and Chocola's jacket and set them in my lap while Vanilla bundled up in her jacket and sat behind me. We rode home and I hung up Chocola's jacket with Vanilla's jacket and mine. I took my normal jacket and folded it up and set it on a dresser in Kashou's room. Vanilla was still kinda cold so I had her sit in my lap on the couch and I hugged her. "Thank you, you feel so warm." She said purring softly. "You're welcome." I said holding her close so she would warm up. She fell asleep so I gently got up and grabbed my new winter trench coat and covered her with it while I made some lunch.
