Having slaughtered the odd mercenaries... Qrow collapsed. His mind went dark, and all he could hear was a soft "Boop... Boop... Boop..."

It took a second, but he opened his eyes... He looked around a hospital room, and wondered what happened to him. He remembered the mercs, but he had killed them all, already.

Qrow looked around the hospital room. It wasn't like the one he had seen a good few times before, but it was still familiar.

He tried to move his body, but he felt quite weak, and stiff too. His joints rebelled greatly as he pushed himself up, just in time for a nurse to step in, who seemed surprised.

"Ah, you're finally awake! You've been asleep for quite some time." She said, taking a seat beside him. "Your bones have fully recovered, but it'll be a few days before we can discharge you." She added.

Qrow groaned and put a hand to his head. "Speaking of days... What day is it... And how long have I been out?" He asked, his voice a bit hoarse, as his throat was dry.

"Don't drink it too fast." She said, handing him a glass of water, which he forced himself to drink slowly, as thirsty as he was.

"It's currently Friday, Ninth of March. Roughly quarter past nine A.M... As for how long you've been out..." She muttered, checking the screen of a tablet in her hands. "Roughly a week ago would be the mark of exactly two years." She replied, answering his question.

He almost choked on his water. Two whole years? Something wasn't right.

"But I remember... The people I met... I think I was..." He started to speak, trying to recall the things from before... But they evaded him, fading rapidly, almost like trying to remember a dream...

The nurse gently put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't push yourself... You've been in a coma for two years. What you're trying to remember was probably just a dream you had..." She replied.

"But... I'm sure it was more than ten years..." He muttered softly.

"The perception of time, or just about anything really, is much different in dreams. Much like how it feels like you've been asleep or dreaming for a really long time, when it's really only been a few hours... What you perceived as ten or so years, was actually only two." The nurse told him.

"On another note, your Mistress and your sister will be ecstatic to know you're finally awake..." She said, changing the subject. "They should be coming to visit shortly. They've visited you every day since you were hospitalized."

"Mistress? Sister... But I don't remember having a sister...?" Qrow said.

"Don't worry... It's probably just lingering effects of the coma. You were so used to the dream that you've forgotten some of the things from your real life. They'll come back to you in a little bit. Your Mistress and Sister showing up should jog those memories." She says, heading out.

He let out a soft groan as he shifted upright, careful not to put too much strain on his body or disturb the IV. He felt so weak... Dream or not, he knew he wasn't this weak before... Being unconscious for two whole years must have withered away all his muscles. His tail flicked around anxiously, as he wondered who his Mistress and Sister were... He didn't remember these people, so the thought scared him a little. What would happen if he didn't recognize them? What would they think, and what would he do? The door rattled open and he jumped a little as a slightly older woman rushed in with a very tall sexy young catgirl behind her.

The two of them hugged him tightly, the older woman burying her face into his neck, crying on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her as tightly as he could with how weak he was.

She tried to speak, but the tears choked her up and they both just kept crying for a while. It was maybe ten minutes before the women were able to stop crying, the catgirl taking a seat by the foot of the bed, and the older woman taking a seat closer to him, holding his hand, which was considerably larger than both of hers.

"I-I was so worried... So worried you died... Even when you were safe in the hospital, I had nightmares... That you would wither away and die, without waking up..." She said, her voice wavering quite a bit. She sniffed and moved a small pair of spectacles from her nose to rub her eyes, and once she looked him in the face, he immediately recognized the two of them.

"... Hana?" He asked softly. "E-Evelyn...?"

"Yes... Qrow?" The older woman asked.

He seemed shocked, and quickly moved forward to hug her as tightly as he could. "H-Hana!? I-I thought you were-... But... Here you are... I'm so glad you're safe..." He said softly.

"Yeah... I'm okay... Because you saved me... It was going so fast I didn't see it, but you did... You dove forward, knocking me out of the way... It flew past, behind me... There were screeching tires, and a whole lot of blood on the road... You were laying on the road, pretty far away..." She tried to control herself, but started crying anyway, so he held her close, trying to comfort her.

A doctor walked in. "It's good to see you're awake. You're lucky to be here at all... If you were any ordinary human... Let's just say you'd be a red stain on the highway, after what happened." The doctor said.

"Two years ago some rich bastard's piss drunk kid was speeding and nearly ran Hana over. You noticed before she did and got her out of the way. You got hit instead... Every bone in your body was broken, and the doctors were only barely able to save you. It took a whole lot of surgery and a lot of money, but you're still alive..." The catgirl said, who he recognized as Evelyn, but a real flesh and blood woman, instead of the person inside his head she was while he was in a coma.

"We sued the piss out of them, which luckily paid enough to cover all of the expenses, and then some." She added.

It gave him a headache, but he did start remembering... Evelyn was real, and was his flesh and blood sister. Hana's family raised Qrow and Evelyn from the time they were the humanoid cat equivalent of human toddlers... His combat training, except he never actually lost any limbs in the conflicts he was involved in... Living with Hana and Evelyn. And if he remembered correctly, now that two years had passed, he was roughly thirty five now... Which put Hana in her early 40s, and Evelyn... Whether he was the older sibling or if they were twins was a little foggy in his memory.

And Hana... He loved her with all his heart... He remembered that well...
