(This is going to be a chapter to reveal a bit more about Qrow's history, for confirmation, this takes place in the few years between when his original owner, the old lady, died, and him being drafted into the military.) I was wandering around town, when a young couple, about 20 years of age, walked up to me. "Hello. Do you have an owner? I see you have a collar, but the light on it appears to be red." The woman said, smiling sweetly. (The reason no one else noticed is because you would have been looking for the light in the first place to notice it. Also, Qrow is about 15 in human years when this chapter takes place, so it takes place about 15 years before he met Kashou in chapter one, at the age of 30 and at this point in time, he still has all his limbs intact.) "Since you were observant enough to notice, no, I don't have an owner. She died a few years ago of a heart attack at the age of 90." I said. "Would you like to come home with us?" The lady asked, smiling and gently stroking my head. "I like you. Okay sure," I said, hugging her. The woman said her name was Hana, and the man's name was Katashi. I hugged them, and they brought me home with them. I loved living with them, until a couple years later. Katashi was going through depression, and albeit all we did to cheer him up, his condition only worsened. About a month after his depression started, he developed an alcohol addiction, and would often come home so plastered you could use him to build a wall. (haha.) This continued, until one night, I overheard them arguing. I quietly walked to the doorway of the room they were in and eavesdropped on them. They argued back and forth for about 15 minutes when Katashi seemed to reach the end of his fuse. I stepped into the room, but he didn't notice me. He started beating up Hana, and she screamed as she fell to the floor. She looked over at me, her expression pleading for me to help. That, was where I reached the end of MY fuse. (Before now in this chapter, Qrow wasn't violent at all, and he was very calm and agreeable.) Then Katashi noticed me, and walked over to me, hand clenched into a fist. I knew I was going to be beaten up next, so I quickly considered my options. I run, leaving Hana alone with this monster, or I could try saving Hana, and expect one of two outcomes, one; I save her and we escape, or two; I get beaten to a pulp. I realized there was no reasoning with him, in his state of extreme drunkenness he does not possess the mental capacity to be reasoned with. I ran full force slamming into his chest, knocking him over. I kneeled on his center of gravity so that no matter how much he may try, it would be next to impossible for him to get up without moving me first. His hands were stuck, pinned underneath him. I was infuriated, my vision partially blurred by tears, fueled by anger and sadness, I punched him in the face until my knuckles bled. By that point, I had long since knocked him unconscious, and with a few more punches, I heard a cracking sound. "Stop, you've beaten him up enough already," she said. Between the cracking sound of Katashi's skull, and Hana's voice, the feelings of utter hatred and fury had passed, making way for the sadness to take over. I broke down crying between the feeling of sadness and the pain of my bleeding knuckles, I burst into tears and went to Hana's side. I buried my face in her chest (As in her chest, NOT her boobs.) and she gently stroked my head while we lay on the floor. After a while, I calmed down and remembered my knuckles were still bleeding on her. "Come on, let's get you patched up, and get him taken care of." She said, smiling warmly giving me a hug. She grabbed some cloth and used it to patch up my knuckles. We called the cops and told them what happened as Katashi was driven to a hospital before being taken to prison. Hana and I went back inside to relax. "Thank you for protecting me. That was very heroic of you." She said, giving me a hug. My heart felt warm inside and I felt my face get warmer. Though her warm and happy personality could make your chest feel all warm and fuzzy, this wasn't the same, it was way stronger. "Is something wrong? Your face is all red." She said. "N-no." I stuttered. "You don't normally act like this, you can tell me if something's wrong." She said, with another of her trademark smiles. "You smell really sweet, and not like your normal flowery perfume scent either, it's sweet and really strong," I said, nuzzling up to her. She blushed and we went over to her bookshelf. She grabbed a book from the shelf and flipped through the pages and stopped on one. She read it quickly and then blushed. "Oh..." She said, turning an even deeper shade of red. "Qrow... Do you... Love me...?" she asked quietly. "Y-yes." I stuttered. I didn't think it could be possible, but she somehow turned even deeper shades of red. She lay down on the couch and gently pulled me on top of her. She kissed me, and my eyes widened as my heart skipped a beat. I closed my eyes and returned her kiss. (Time skip!) After a while, we went back downstairs, and Hana sat down in a chair and I sat next to her and cuddled with her. She gently scratched my ears and I quickly fell asleep.
