I woke up with Vanilla sitting next to me watching TV and I sat up. "You're feeling better?" Vanilla said. "Much better" I said with a stretch. I walked downstairs and saw Aries knocking on the window, I unlocked the door letting him in. "It's nice to see you're doing well, especially after what happened." he said. We all went out for a walk, it was mostly peaceful until someone tried to crash it. I watched as someone drew a knife, "You'd think you all would've learned by now not to do that after the filleting I gave the last guy." I said shooting a glare his way. He lunged at me and I quickly disarmed him, I tossed the knife off to the side, burying the blade in the dirt. "Fight me like a real man." I said, putting up my fists. "Okay let's do this." he said with a grin. I quickly wiped that grin off his face with a swing of my left fist hitting him square in the face, knocking him out cold. I called the police and showed them the knife he tried to attack us with as the man was taken away and we continued with our leisurely stroll. We got back without much fanfare and it got dark. I cooked dinner and everybody went to sleep. I heard a knock, "Who's knocking this late?" I muttered groggily. I went downstairs and pushed up the shutters to see who was knocking and barely had time to duck before a shotgun blast went off, I got a large glass shard right in my left eye. "Oh you're going to pay..." I growled at the assailant. I grabbed my revolver in one hand and a knife in the other and swung at him, there was a huge gash diagonally across his chest as he punched me in the side of the head and he fell over. There was a clicking sound as I pulled back the hammer on my revolver, and it was over. He was dead with a large bullet hole in his chest. I called the police and an ambulance to have the glass shard removed from my eye. Everyone must've woke up because Kashou came downstairs and saw the damage and the man dead on the floor. I handed him some money and told him to buy bulletproof glass this time. The glass shard ruined my eye so I had to get an eye patch but other than that and a few other minor cuts I was fine. When I got home I saw the windows got replaced with good sturdy bulletproof ones. It was similar to the original but slightly tinted brown. I walked in and Vanilla tackled me, crying. "Hello Vanilla. I'm fine, I don't plan to go anywhere for a long time." I said in a soft, reassuring tone. I hugged her tightly and gently stroked her head as I explained what happened. "Your eye..." She said, looking at my eye patch. "Yeah I lost my eye but I'm still fine, I just look slightly different and can only see through my right eye." It was still really early the next morning and the sun hadn't risen yet and everyone was tired so I set Vanilla down on the couch and she bundled up in my nice woolly trench coat and fell asleep while I made some coffee. A few minutes later Vanilla woke up and we sat on the balcony upstairs as we watched the sun rise.
