The shop was going through a rather depressing period after Mr. Minaduki died, the feeling of depression was so strong I could've sworn some of the color had faded from the room. I headed out to my car and grabbed an acoustic guitar from the trunk, sitting outside the shop ignoring the rain while I played some music. The rain didn't help much, but it did help me cheer up some, as I liked the rain. A while later the rain stopped and the sun came out. I dried off my guitar and stuck it back in its case in the trunk of my car, and I headed back inside. I pulled out a poker case and asked if Royal and Kashou knew how to play. (Texas hold 'em rules) I shuffled the deck of cards and passed everyone their chips and we played poker while Shigure and the catgirls watched TV. At the end of the game Kashou and Royal both owed me about 120,000 ¥. "Better luck next time." I said, stretching. I made some food and then went to take a nap. The next day the shop was open, and everyone was feeling like their usual selves again. I made a few deliveries, and helped out the blacksmith a bit again today as well. Vanilla and I decided to go out for a drive. We were driving when someone jumped into the road. I told Vanilla to cover her ears, and honked at him. He stared at us, tilted his head, and smiled wide. I honked again. He still didn't move. He pulled out a knife, and slashed my tires. I locked all the doors except the drivers side door and hopped out, leaving my revolver in the gun rack inside the glove box, and my lever action rifle in the car. I shouted at him, and drew my sword. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I said, as he started laughing maniacally. He took a swing at me. I dodged out of the way and slashed his face. He was laughing even louder... "What are you? I shudder to imagine what inhuman thoughts run through your head." I said. He slashed at me several more times, and I once again dodged out of the way. I ran him through, and he laughed as he slumped over. I shuddered as he died, and I called a hearse and a mechanic, having Vanilla hop out of the car. I pulled out the carjacks from my trunk and lifted up my car as a mechanic brought me some new tires. The psycho was still bleeding a puddle on the ground with my sword stuck in his chest. I pulled my sword out of his chest and cleaned the blood off the blade as I sheathed it again. I swapped out my tires for the new ones and we drove back home. Vanilla was shaking, still horrified by what happened with the psycho. I hugged her and gently scratched her head while we sat on the couch. Chocola came over wondering what was wrong. "It's better not to ask... She had a... Close encounter with someone who lost their marbles." I said. She didn't really understand what I meant, so I tried to explain further. "Vanilla and I came across a person who finds excitement from the suffering and pain of himself or others. A psychotic serial killer, to be exact. He tried to kill us but was unsuccessful, and died in the process." I said. "Oh..." She said, shuddering. I knew the first encounters with a psychopath could be very traumatizing, especially one of that level of messed up. I made dinner for everyone, and ate dinner quickly. I headed to the garage and I pulled my rifle out of the holster attached to my motorcycle, and set it down on the floor just under the bed on my side. I lay down in bed while I waited for Vanilla to come to bed. I picked up a book and opened it to my page. Vanilla came into the bedroom and curled up next to me. She nuzzled up against my chest, and I gently scratched her head. She seemed like she was still on edge so I scratched her head, and she started purring. I was sleeping really lightly, when Vanilla woke up with a start. She seemed terrified. "Calm down. It was just a nightmare." I said, giving her a kiss. She seemed to calm down, and I gently rubbed her head, softly whistling until she fell back asleep. I fell asleep a few minutes later and all was well.
