We were all downstairs working in the shop, and Vanilla and I were on our break and I was idly eating a cheesecake. "Hey, can you tell me more about your past? You still have quite a lot you haven't told us." Vanilla said. "Sure... What story should I tell... Hmm. Oh, I've got one. How about the story of my second owner, Hana." I said. "She was the best, her boyfriend, on the other hand, was not. I'll tell you about Hana first. Hana was a bit shorter than I am now, and it didn't matter how bad your day was, one of her trademarked smiles, and your day was instantly better. She was always really friendly and kind, she often wore a normal pair of blue jeans with a sleeveless white shirt and a flannel jacket and she would often stand out in a crowd." I said. "She seems like she'd be a good person," Vanilla replied. "If only you could've seen one of her smiles. She was the best. I miss her..." I said, sighing. "Now on to her boyfriend. He was your average joe, up until he went through depression and developed an alcohol addiction. One night he and Hana were arguing about something, and I went to go make sure everything was okay when he beat up Hana. That was the moment my change into the tough guy I am today began. I overflowed with rage and sadness and I tackled him and punched him in the face until I cracked his skull. My knuckles bled like hell, but he learned a lesson he wouldn't soon forget. Later that day I fell in love with Hana, and we lived together happily for a while, until one day, she disappeared forever." I said in a slightly saddened tone. "Woah. That must've been tough." Vanilla said. I heard the bell above the shop's door ring. I turned to see who it was. "Speak of the devil and she shall appear," I said. I walked up to the woman. "Hey is your name Hana Shimizu by any chance? I asked. "How do you know my name?" She asked. "About seventeen years ago did you have a boyfriend by the name of Katashi?" I asked. "How do you know all this?" she asked. "Let me ask my last couple questions, and I'll answer yours," I said. "Third question; once again, about 17 years ago did you adopt a catboy who later went on to fall in love with you after defending you?" I asked. She nodded. "Final question then... Where have you been all these years Hana? I missed you." I said with a sniffle, showing her my rings and giving her a hug. She gasped. "Qrow... Is it really you?" She asked. "Yes, it's me. I'm still around after all these years, and I missed you. What happened anyway? You just disappeared one day." I said. I heard several of the customers go "Aww." I wiped the tears from my face and smiled. She smiled as well. "Your smile is just as bright as I remember," I said. Vanilla walked over. "Qrow was just telling me about you, and you look pretty much exactly how he described you," Vanilla said to Hana. "And who might you be?" Hana asked. "Hana, this is Vanilla. My wife." I said. "Wait, you're married? Man, it's been a long time." She said. "That can happen over the course of several years," I said. "It's good to see you again..." I said. "You're in quite a few more pieces than when I left you." She snickered. "Well between a grenade blast, a huge German Shepherd, my car falling onto my leg, and a giant shard of glass in my eyeball, it's roughed me up quite a bit over the past many years. You, however, seem to have been left untouched by time. You look exactly the same as when you disappeared." I said. "Thank you." She said "Lecher." Vanilla mumbled. I almost fell over laughing. "What did she say? I couldn't hear." Hana said.
(QUICK THANKS FOR 1K READS, and biggest thanks to Royal1337. Without his help, I wouldn't have gotten past chapter 4.)
"Nothing," I said with a snicker. Vanilla nuzzled up to me and I gently stroked her head. "Seems you picked up some of my tricks," Hana said. I smirked and hugged Vanilla. "I seem to have mastered your trick you used to use which put me to sleep by stroking my head in just the right way," I said. "Oh, you mean this trick?" She said, smirking and rubbing my head. My vision faded to black and I slumped over onto Hana. I woke up about half an hour later in my chair. "Damn, you're heavy. It took nearly all my strength just to stop myself from dropping you." Hana said. We continued chatting for a while and Hana left. I closed up shop, made dinner, and went to bed with Vanilla.
