"Miss Brelle, go to my office, now." Mister Avilde retorded. I bid my excuses to my co-workers to follow Mister Avilde.

"What is it, Sir?" Magalang na tanong ko. Hindi naman ako kinakabahan na baka bad news ito dahil I knew to myself that I did great at the screening.

"A large company abroad, wants you to manage their project. They want you to cover-up their project launching in New York." Nakangiting sabi nya na sya namang ikinatuwa ko ng sobra.

"Really?! But how?"

"Yes. Because of your work on Psychasthenia, so they've chose you."

"Sir, what's the company name and where they've from?" I asked excitedly.

"The KDC Company from Philippines." My smiles fade.

Philippines.

That place reminds me a lot of memories. Families, friends, love, torment, decisions.

I wonder why do I need to be known at that place so that this KDC company can even chose me? I just wanna live a simple life!

But I think, I'm just a pessimist. Napakalaki ng Pilipinas para magkatagpo-tagpo kami ng mga taong iniwanan at tinakasan ko, right? And besides, I'm physically changed. So I guess--no, I'm pretty sure that no one can notice me as the missing heiress of the Villegas family.

"Miss Brelle?" Napakurap ako ng marinig ko ang pagtawag ni Mister Avilde sa akin.

"Ah yes sir?"

"I asked you twice if you're interested?" Walang pag-aalinlangan akong tumango.

"But sir, what is the name of the manager's company?"

"Oh wait." May kinuha sya na file at binuklat iyon. "Ah, its Macey Ocampo." I nodded. Macey Ocampo? Hmm, never been heard.

Matapos kong magpaalam kay sir ay nakangiti akong nag-lakad palabas ng office nya. Malaking oportunidad ito. Ang kaso, natatakot ako. Natatakot ako sa mga bagay na maaring mangyari. Sa mga taong maari kong muling makita. Sa mga nangyari na muli kong maalala.

But I shooked my head while biting my lower lip. I must be paranoid. Sa pitong libo isandaa't pitong pulo ng Pilipinas, imposible talaga ang iniisip ko. Ugh! Is this the cause of not eating brunch?

"Hey." Aly tapped my shoulder. Tinapunan ko lang sya ng tingin at tipid na ngiti bago ko ipinagpatuloy ang ginagawa ko. "Need help?" She offered. Umiling lang ako habang tutok na tutok ang paningin sa laptop ko. "What's that?"

"New mission."

"KDC Company? What company is that?"

I just shrugged my shoulders. "I dunno."

"Never been heard." 

Nagpatuloy lang ako sa pag-scroll down habang tine-take note ang mga importanteng detalye na nababasa ko. Like, ang KDC Company ay naitayo three years ago. Three years pa lang, pero very successful na. Engineering agency ito. And KDC is the initial of the building director, a. k. a. President. It is also located at Taytay Rizal.

"Sweetheart." Jerome embraced me as he approached.

Realtalk, I am very annoyed whenever he's around. Hindi ko lang sya ma-prangka na naiinis ako sa mga ka-kornihan nya at hindi ko lang sya mabatukan pag bigla nya akong niyayakap like how I've used to be because he's my bestfriend.

Bestfriend ko sya. Sya ang kauna-unahang tao na naka-close ko nung bago pa lang ako dito. But months passed, he confessed me that more than friends ang gusto nya. Actually, wala naman sanang problema. Kaya lang, inisip ko na kaya nga ako nakipag-sapalaran dito para umiwas sa mga ganong bagay. Yes. I admitted that it is not possible that I will fall to someone or someone will fall for me. But not as early as months.
