Friends and only

After .. Olivia left... I showered. I got a text from Jaden asking if I wanted to hang out. A bunch of our friends were going to his house. I walked into the house. Jess, Bryce, Katie, jake, kourtney and Jaden were there. So was Tyler. I walked over to Jaden.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey what's up? You're a little late." Jaden said.
"Yeah I always am. So what are you cooking ?" I asked. He laughed.
"Just a special special meal!!! You're gonna have to find out later cause... I'm umm still Tryna cook it right ..." Jaden said.
"Haha yeah! I hope it won't kill me!" I said. Everyone was kinda scattered around the house. Jake and kourtney were outside with their baby. The baby is pretty cute not gonna lie. The door bell rang. Jaden and Tyler went to get it.
"Did you have trouble finding the house?" Tyler asked. As he moved to the side I could see who it was. They walked to the living room.
"Hey Alex!" Olivia said to me.
"Oh hey! Whatcha doing here?.." I asked.
"Tyler invited me to come over here because apparently he wanted all his friends to meet me? Haha I was contemplating about this yesterday when him and I were talking." Olivia said. Tyler came around.
"Oh hey Olivia, did you guys meet yet?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah ! A couple weeks ago." I said.
"Hey Olivia, Jaden has this super cool backyard ! You have to see!" Tyler said to Olivia. They went in the backyard. Me and Jess were upstairs outside the balcony just talking about random stuff. Jaden Tyler and Olivia were in the backyard talkin. Every couple of minutes would be them laughing.
"Man.. They needa keep it down! By the way who is that chick? I'm just now seeing her." Jess asked.
"Oh , she lives near me and Tyler" I replied.
"So Are Tyler and her like dating ?" Jess asked.
"I have no clue... And honestly don't care about his love life."' I replied. I went downstairs. As I sat in the living room i could see them talking and laughing. They seemed to be having a blast. Jaden walked in the house to check up on the food. I kept starring at them thru the window from the couch. He was smiling and laughing with her kinda like him and I used to. I got up and was gonna leave. I was at the front door. Tyler came back inside to i think use the washroom or something. He walked to me.
"Hey , where you going? Aren't you gonna stay for the food? I heard Jaden makes really nice steaks!" Tyler said all happy.
"He made steak?! With that secret recipe his mom told him about?!" I asked.
"Yeah that one!"'Tyler replied .
"Oh actually I'm about to leave right now."I replied.
"Really why? Come eat in the yard with me Olivia and Jaden. I think Jess and Bryce and jake and kourtney like eating inside ! You know how they are!' Tyler said. I did a half smile.
"Yeah I think I'm gonna have to miss out on that. I have to pick my mom up from work.But I hope you guys enjoy the food." I said.
"Oh okay." Tyler said. He barely cared if I was staying or not. This is where my regret was kicking in. The guy I like right now ... Is really into this other pretty girl. Went from him chasing me more to now.. Me wanting him. Maybe I just needa get over him. Plenty of fish in the sea right? We all went to the beach the next couple days later.Olivia came too. Tyler and her were tanning together by the sand. I was trying not to be near them. I sat on the sand further from them. Jaden came by and sat near me.
"Hey.. You seem a little .... Different. You okay?" Jaden asked.
"Yeah , I'm okay. What's up with you? You seem different." I said as a distraction from talking about me.
He shook his head.
"Okay then... I'm gonna play volley ball." Jaden said then got up. I was trying my hardest not to seem like that crazy obsessive girl who gets angry over another girl with a guy I like. I mean.. Every girl gets a little jealous when the guy they like is with another girl laughing and smiling. They were laying down on their tummies with their heads face to eachother. I didn't wanna watch. I walked around the beach. I got to this quiet place with nice sand. I jus sat down. I called Dylan. He answered.
"Hello ?" He asked.
"Hi, it's Alex.." I Said waiting for him to say something.
"Alex,... How are you?" Dylan asked. I laughed.
"I'm .. Fine. How's Miami?" I asked.
"Really good! Hey are you okay.. We haven't really talked for a while.. Kinda outta the blue that you called me." Dylan said. I paused for 5 seconds.
"Alex?" He asked over the phone.
"I just wanted to know how things were.. Well I gotta go." I said. I hung up. I just sat on the sand looking at the water thinking. I remember, my friend I had would always say don't waste time on something that won't happen. So maybe that's what I needa do and FORGET about failed relationships that will never happen. I was playing around with the sand. I tried staring
To see all my friends cause I was kinda far from everyone. A ball rolled by me. 20 seconds later... Someone walked by.
"Did you see a ball.... Oh shit have you been here the whole time haha!!!" Jaden said laughing. I gave him a stare.
"Yeah... Nothing wrong with sitting by myself..." I responded. He grabbed the volley ball and left. I got up to walk closer to them. As I walked past Tyler he stopped me.
"Hey Alex, did you play volleyball?" Tyler asked. Olivia was putting sunscreen on his back while he was talking to me.
"Umm no.. But I will later." I said. I ended up not actually playing and just went home.
