Birthdays

So in New York there was this thing almost like coachella where a bunch of artists perform and play live music. A bunch of me and my friends were going. Since so many people were going me and my friends split up in terms of groups around where we should be. I went in a car with Jake, kourtney, Kate and our other friend Reece. Jess , Tyler and them went in another car. I was so exited to hear DJ snake, zedd and all those other djs. All of me and my friends found each other and we're together. The djs were playing music. We were all jumping up and down.
Me and Jess and Tyler were jumping together to this one song we only knew and it just brought back so many memories.
"Haha I remember this song!" Tyler said.
"Yeah! It was when u me and Jess were forced to clean ur aunts restaurant when we had a food fight there !" I said. We all laughed. We then all sat down on the grass and listened to a more chill song that was being played.
"Shit being here just brings back so many memories." Tyler said to me.
"Haha I know! Memories of cleaning a restaurant."I said.
"Haha shut up that was a funny day though !" Tyler said laughing. I laughed back.
"Haha Look.. The 1975 are playing a song today!" Tyler said.
"Haha shit! I remember when Jake asked me all about them for his date!" I said. We were both laughing. I could see Jake annoyed trying to forget that memory.
"Hey, did you get a new charm added to your bracelet ?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah. Like 2 months ago..." I replied. That was quite a long time.
"Yeah I guess I didn't notice cause we barley actually have a normal conversation now a days like right now." Tyler said.
"Yeah .. I guess." I replied. I got a text. It was from Dylan. Apparently he was able to get a last minute to the coachella music festival thing here in New York. He was apparently with some other friends near this little hill. I got up and went to find him.
"Hey !"I said to Dylan. He turned around.
"Who are you? And why are you following me ?" Dylan said.
"Oh sorry ! I'll leave now?" I said. He was smiling.
"Hey what's up?" Dylan said as he hugged me.
"Hey so you got a ticket last minute?.. You're lucky ." I said. We danced and jammed out to all the songs. The show was over at 11pm. It was super crowded so it took me a while to get back to find the car. I could barley move anywhere because it was so squished at the exit. I finally got through. I found Dylan.
"Shit .. I can't find my friends.." I said to him at the parking.
"Does someone need a lift home ?" Dylan asked.i nodded.
"That man can take you!" Dylan said pointing at this old man.
"Haha kidding! Hop in lex." Dylan said.
"Oh nick names already?" I said. He drove me back home. We listened to his music. Thousand miles by Vanessa Carleton was on.
"Umm..... " I said.
"No.. My mom likes that song Kay!" Dylan said laughing. He wasn't fooling anyone. I got home.
"Thanks for the ride." I said as I turned to him.
"Yeah no problem." Dylan said smiling.
"Okay well bye." I said smiling back then left. I got home. Tyler was walking towards my house.
"hey.. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Jake said he couldn't find you and wanted to see if you already got back home." Tyler said.
"Oh shit. are they still there ?" I asked.
"Uhh no luckily. But how'd you get back?" Tyler asked. I hesitated. I kinda felt weird talking about Dylan.
"Umm.. Dylan-" I said.
"Oh Dylan the guy you're hooking up with?" Tyler said. I was thrown off.
"What? No he's a really cool person.. " I replied crossing my arms.
"Oh cool well I'll let them know you're back." Tyler said. I got inside. My mom and her friends were watching the bachelor eating pizza. I went upstairs.
**next morning **
So in a couple of days was gonna be my birthday. I didn't want a party or anything. Me jess and Bryce went out to eat.
"So alex.. Would you say you like sushi? "Jess asked.
"Umm yeah .. You're not throwing me a party are you?" I asked. They didn't say anything. I got a text from dylan. I guess Bryce saw.
"Hey alex! You know dylan ?" Bryce asked. I looked up at him.
"Yeah, do you?" I asked.
"He surfs right?" Bryce asked. I nodded.
"He's like best friends with my Brother. And actually a good friend of mine" Bryce said.
"Small world isn't it?" I asked. I got back home. I was thinking about my birthday and what I wanted to do. I didn't want a huge birthday party because .. I felt like that's just a little too much. My mom was even asking me about it. I still had no clue what I wanted to do.
**next couple days***
It was my birthday today!!! I woke up to my mom holding a cupcake with a candle lit up singing happy birthday to me.
"Haha thanks mom!" I said as I blew it out. She made a yummy breakfast for me!
"Thanks for all of this! And everything!" I said to my mom. She smiled.
"I know I'm the greatest parent ever . You don't have to remind me alex." She said jokingly. I looked at my phone. Jess texted me saying she has a surprise. Hmmm I wonder what!! I got dressed in a sort of cute outfit. Not to formal and not quite to casual. I drove by to Bryce and Jess's house. I walked in and everyone jumped and yelled surprise!
"Haha I had no clue." I said laughing. We all sat in the living room. They all had gifts for me.
"I'm happy I have you as my friend because you're super funny and cool! Happy birthday weirdo!" Lauren said. I laughed.
"We've been friends for the longest and I'm happy you're growing up into a great person! Happy birthday!" Jess said.
"Thanks Jess." I replied. I finally opened all the gifts. That wasn't the last surprise. They then we're gonna take me to this fair/waterpark all in one!!
"I saw on the Internet that it was closed today!" I said.
"Yeah.. It's closed because we booked the whole place for you and us!!!" Jaden said. This was great. We got in the car. We got to the place. We rode all the rides and ate so much food! We kinda all went wherever we wanted.
"Hey! Happy birthday !" Dylan said to me.
"Thanks. Now let's go on the rocky ride!" I said to dylan as I grabbed his hand running. Today was such a great day. After we were done we all went home. I got out of my car. Tyler walked out of my house holding a bag.
"Oh hey." He said. I stood there.
"Whatcha doing here...?" I asked.
"Oh well since I wasn't able to come to your birthday thing I wanted to at least drop off my gift." Tyler said then walked down the steps.
"haha you actually got me a gift? You!?" I asked laughing.
"Well it's not even a good gift and plus..were friends so why shouldn't i?" Tyler said as he handed me the bag. I took it.
"You gonna open it?" Tyler asked. I looked inside the bag. It was a silly photo of me and Tyler that we took ages ago framed. There was a note.
"You're amazing, I'm glad to have someone like you in my life. You can always make me smile.. So thank you for that. Thank you.. Kevin hart..?" I said reading the note in confusion. I laughed.
"Haha keep reading." Tyler said.
"Oh and I guess you're pretty cool too alex.happy birthday." I said reading the note. This was a pretty interesting gift.
"Haha why am I not surprised? But thank you" I said.
How was you birthday today?" Tyler asked.
"It was great! Only because you weren't there!" I said.
"Haha very funny! You wish I came!" Tyler said.
"Well I guess I'll head back home now." Tyler said.
"Yeah okay. Well thanks for the gift." I replied. He left. I got back inside. My mom had a whole meal cooked for me. Today was pretty amazing.
