Awkward interactions

So.. Me and None of my friends spoke to each other. So I don't know whether to call them my friends now. It was awkward but the school year was almost finished. Jess looked pissed watching Tyler hanging out with Monica and his other friends.
Then someone came over to me during lunch.
"Hey... So what's up with you and your friends?" Ryan asked.
"Oh hey..Umm I don't know.. Shouldn't you be with tyler and them?" I asked.
"Well... I was about to go to the vending machine ... You okay? Want anything ?" Ryan asked.
"I'm good.." I said. I went back in the school to take my bag out my locker when school was done.Tyler walked over to me.
"Hey!.... You keep promises right?" Tyler asked. I didn't reply. I started putting books in my bag.
"Hey alex !" He said.
"Yeah I guess I do.. Why?" I asked annoyed.
"Well my promposal .... You said you'd fire the firework...." Tyler said. Then I remembered.
"Yeah Whatever... When?" I asked.
"Umm come to my house at 6pm..." He said . So after that i was about to go in my car then saw jess. I ran over to her to try and resolve things.
"Hey ..." I said.
"Oh hey Alex ... How's it going ?" She asked. This was just ridiculous.
"Hey I'm sorry can we just have everything go back to normal .. ?" I said.
"No I'm sorry .. I over reacted and was childish .... Of course we can go back to normal ... Haha hey! Wanna watch a movie at my place ?" She said. I agreed but then remembered I had to help tyler with his promposal shit.
"Yeah what time cause tyler wanted me to help with his dumb promposal..." I replied.
"Alright well .. We can go to my house like now then you can help him when it's time and I'll come too!" Jess said. So we got to her house and ate food and watched High school musical . When it was 6 we drove to tylers house.
We rang the doorbell but no one was answering. Finally he opened it.
"Oh hey jess ....." Tyler said. We then walked in.
"Alright so I set up a table out in the patio where we're gonna eat and when I start talking about the stars and how pretty they look I want you to fire it." Tyler said.
"Hahaha alright...... Well where should we stay until you guys have your dinner?" I asked.
"You can stay in the shed and there will be a door you get out and we won't be able to see you fire it." Tyler replied. Well I knew this was gonna be a long night.
"Wait so who are you asking...?" Jess asked.
"Umm im asking Monica...." He said slowly. Things got a little awkward.
"Oh right Umm... Hey let's go wait in the shed alex.." Jess said. Monica's car was rolling in the drive way at that moment. So me and jess just sat in that shed on our phones talking.
"So.... You going to prom ? I asked.
"Yeah i asked Cayden... What about you?" Jess asked me.
"Oh well... Leo asked me and we'll were gonna go half the time for each of our prom.." I replied.
"I just really wanted to go with tyler but .. I don't know .. Some things never happen...!" Jess said awkwardly laughing. We started looking through the window to spy on their date.
"Ughh look at that dress... I saw it at this designer store for like $600 bucks last week... Why would anyone spend that much just for a date haha !" I said.
"Hey Alex.. There's like 2 different sets of fire works .. Which one do we fire ?.." Jess asked. I started examining them. I just went with a guess and chose randomly.
"Alright just take that one.
**tylers pov**
"Yeah my grandma taught me that recipe but she cooks it way better than me!" Tyler said.
"Haha wow ! But this lasagna is actually quite tastey!" Monica said as she ate it.
"Don't the stars look pretty?" Tyler asked.

So we opened the door and set everything up. And I could hear tyler trying to talk about the sky which made me laugh and almost blow this whole plan.
"Look up at the sky !" I could hear tyler saying . So we lit up the fire work and watched it.
"Prom? " Jessica said reading the sky.
"Wow... That's really .... Cute of him to do..." Jess said to me looking kinda down. We peaked around the corner.and I could hear them.
"Prom? Yeah ! Of course I'll go !!! Hahah!!!! That was amazing!!" Monica said hugging him. I turned to look at jess. She looked a little jealous. Then Monica left and we walked over to him.
"Alright now that I'm done I can leave now right ?" I asked.
"Yeah sure by the way guys thanks for helping out! Tyler said. So I went to go start the car up.
***tylrr and jess**
"Hey.. That was a really cool way of promposing! " Jess said.
"Thanks! Hey.. Look jess! You know I love you ! We've been friends for the longest time and I'm sorry that I'm not going to prom with you -" Tyler said .
"It's ok... Umm ... Monica's a great person ummm...why didn't you ask me? Jess asked. Tyler hesitated.
"Umm well .. Do you really wanna have this conversation now?.." Tyler asked.
"Sorry Umm I'll see you around ! Bye" she said then left.

So I was waiting in the car while jess was .. I don't know probably getting her stuff. I got a text on my phone and it was from my mom. She told me she had another shift that she had to work late. So... What was going through my mind you ask? Well.. I mean.. Nothing really ... I was probably thinking of going to the beach during a sunset and chillax ! Jess started walking out the house.
"Hey! What took you so long?" I asked.
"Oh yah know... I just went to use the washroom .. Umm so any plans tonight?" Jess asked me.
"Umm probably nothing .. I was just gonna chill at the beach what about you?" I asked.
"I honestly have nothing better to do so I'll come along !" She said. So off we drove! The beach I was driving to was 40 min away but it's worth it. The water is really nice and the sand as well. Plus... There's not that much people there. We blasted our music while driving and just had the time of our lives. We finally got to the beach and apparently during this hour you have to frikken pay to park here and go past Those dumb sticks that go up to let you drive through. There was like no one here at all. Jess layed on her towel listening to music just chilling. She went to get some food at a little snack bar they had a couple feet away.

"Hey, can I get two bags of Doritos?" jess asked. The dude turned around.
"Oh hey... " he said. Jess looked right and left.
"Umm are you gonna get me them haha!?" Jess asked.
"Right!!!! Yeah !" He said quickly trying to get them.
"Here yah go, that'll be $4.00." He said . Jess then gave him the change and she walked out. Then ...
"Hey! What are you doing at a beach at 6pm by yourself ?." He asked.
"Oh no I'm actually here with my friend down there!.." I replied.
"Hey I'm Bryce!"
"Haha! , I'm Jess or Jessica by the way!"
"So do you always get to watch these pretty sunsets everyday?" Jess asked.
"Haha yeah pretty much except.. I get really bored because no ones usually here during my shifts.." He said.
"Alright I'll see you around.." Jess said smiling.
She then walked out. 20 min later Bryce walks out the shack and walks over to jess.
"Oh yeah hey... Jess you left your sunglasses on the counter." Bryce said.
"Hey thanks! Hey if you don't have anywhere to be you can sit here with me.. I'm pretty bored Since my friend is by the water at the moment!" Jess said.

I was enjoying the peace but then I think I saw jess talking with someone but I could barley get a good view. I was trying to take pictures of the sunset but I figured it'd be better to just enjoy the moment with no cameras. I walked back to jess.
"Hey who was that guy you were talkin to..?" I asked.
"no oneeeee!" She said laughing. We got in the car to drive back home.
"Hey so proms literally a couple days away!!!! Are you gonna get ready at your house or do you wanna come to mine .. Ash and Katy are gonna be there!" Jess said.
"Yeah sure but then I'm gonna have to text Leo to pick me up at yours .." I replied.
"Oh well you guys can come in the limo with us if you want! " jess insisted. The problem with that for me was... We wouldn't find a way to go to his prom because we have it on the same day. We were gonna go for mine half the day then his.
"Umm sure .. I'll make it work some how ." I said. As we drove I got a text. But I couldn't see it because I was driving. So jess did it for me.
"Hey ... The text is from tyler!" Jess said as she read it.
"Well what does it say?!" I asked.
"Well he asked if I'm okay with Monica getting ready at my house because the limo driver would only make 3 trips to prom ..." She read.
"So.. Are you okay with it...? I asked.
"Yeah sure ..." She said typing. I dropped her off then drove to my house.  I made myself some brownies then watched some tv in the living room. My mom came back .
"Hey!" I said.
"So... During summer... Your dad asked if you would want to visit him in L.A.. For a couple of weeks." She said. Honestly .. I would wanna go but I feel like I'd be so bored. My dad works as a movie producer and there's a film he's working on right now so I probably won't be able to hang out with him that much. I don't know! Life's hard! I felt kind of bad if I said no though because ..he's My dad.
"You can think about it..you don't have to say yes or no now." My mom said. Anyways so I spent my night eating chips watching YouTube and going on Instagram.
**next day***
So tomorrow was prom!!! I didn't know whether To feel excited or glad I was gonna get through that day . I went to some stores to pick up some nail polishes and other makeup stuff because I ran out of a lot of things. I got back home and went to walk my neighbours dogs out.
"Hey Brooks!" Someone said.
"What do you want tyler !?.. Oh hey Leo!! Sorry.. Tyler calls me Brooks a lot .. Never mind so what are you doing outside at 8pm?" I asked.
"Haha well... I always skateboard around this hour... Anyways so .. I can't wait to take you to prom !" He said holding my hands.
"Oh yeah Umm Jess was wondering if you wanted to go in a limo with us!" I said.
"Well how are we gonna get to my prom after ?.." He asked.
"Ok how bout you drive there and I'll meet you because jess really wanted me to go with her in the limo!" I replied.
"Yeah it's alright I'll just wait for u at the place." Leo said.
"Alright I'll see yah tomorrow hottie."
"Haha what ?!" Leo replied.
"nothing .. I said Leo .." I said laughing.
"Alright !" He said smiling. So the next day I had to bring my dress and other crap to Jess's house where we were gonna get ready. Prom was in 8 hours so I was chilling. A lot of girls were here and by a lot I mean 4 extra girls jess didn't tell me about. But who cares honestly. So we were just eating first and just chilling for the first part. I was in the kitchen and saw Monica. Walking in.
"Hey! Oh you can put your stuff upstairs here I'll show you!" I said to Monica.
"Wow Jess's house is really nice! Oh yeah it was tylers idea to make me get ready here so I'm sorry if I crashed here-"
"Oh no it's alright! It umm was my idea for you to come get ready here!" I said. I wanted her to feel better about being here because I always sensed some sort of tension jess had when she was around Monica.
"Is that your dress?" I asked.
"Yeah I decided to change it last minute.." Monica said.
"It's really pretty ! Hey let's go in the backyard .. Jess said there's pizza and ice cream!" I said. We all talked and just ate. Jess and Monica seemed to be getting a long. We started getting ready once it was 2pm. We got our makeup done . I helped Katie with her hair. We got our dresses on and waited for the limo to arrive. The guys got here. We all went downstairs and just talked for a couple of minutes because the limo driver went to get gas.
Everyone looked pretty cleaned up.
I went to the kitchen to grab some water and so did jess. Monica and tyler were talking out in the backyard.
"He looks.... Really nice." Jess said to me. I know how bad jess likes tyler but I think it's cool how she's not gonna let this bother her for the night ... At least I hope. We all took pictures. You know the typical prom ones you see in movies. Suprisingly we were all giving eachother compliments about how we all looked. I was taking most of the pictures and took some Polaroids.
"Oh yeah here's your picture with Monica ." I said to tyler .
"Oh hey Brooks where's your date?" Tyler asked.
"Oh well he's at the prom place.. Waiting for me. And hey! You're lucky your prom date looks amazing! You can thank me." I said and winked then turned around.
"Well.... You look really gorgeous yourself Brooks .." He said.
"Thanks you too." I said smiling.
