Confused

I walked. On the way to Ryder's house I passed by Ashton and his friend who stopped me.
"Hey you're really pretty .. Can I get your number ?" The guy asked. I looked at Ashton.
"Dude .. Let's go. She's not interested." Ashton said. The guy waited for an answer anyways.
"Umm .... Ashton can I get by past you guys ?" I asked. The guy looked at Ashton.
"You know her?" The guy asked.
"Yeah ... And I think she actually likes Ryder so you probably don't have a chance." Ashton said then looked at me. I don't know why everyone thinks I really like Ryder. He's cool and all but I've only known him for about a week.... And I can't just tell whether I'd wanna be with him or not.
"Where are you off to anyways?" Ashton asked.
"Well Ryder asked me if I could help him with fixing the garden-" I said then got inturuppted."
"Alright I'll back off so you and Ryder can be .." Ashton's friend said.
"Ashton ..." I said.
"Cmon lets go." Ashton said to his friend. I walked to Ryder's house. He was unloading soil from his car. I walked in the backyard and the garden looked pretty good. Ryder was putting the soil on the ground.
"Hey so what do you want me to do?" I asked.
"Oh Hey! Well you can start on the side and put the seeds in." Ryder said. It was weird that Ryder out of every person would want a garden. Not judging but it's interesting. The garden was almost done.
"Hey Alex ! I'm just gonna go to the store to get a new hose! You can take a break." Ryder said.
"It's fine I'll just continue !" I replied. I kept planting and trying to make the garden look good too. 10 minutes later I heard the door close. Ryder probably came back. I took my gloves off. Then Ashton walked in the backyard.
"Where's Ryder?" Ashton yelled from the door.
"He's at the store getting a hose." I replied. He had a Popsicle.He walked over and looked at the work I did. I got up.
"Ryder invited you to help with this garden?" Ashton asked. I nodded.
"The garden looks actually really nice. Especially that area!" Ashton said as he pointed with his Popsicle. The piece broke off and hit my face.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" Ashton said.
"Umm It's fine .." I said as I wiped it off.
"Wanna play a game of basketball?" Ashton asked.
"What? No just horse I'm too tired to run." I replied.
"Fair enough." He replied. We walked to the court on the other side of the backyard.
"Okay I'll go first !" Ashton said. He got the ball in. I had to copy what he did and lucky for me I got the ball in the net. Later we were both on the letters "s". So the first person to miss was gonna lose. I got the ball in. Then Ashton missed.
"Well I'll be leaving now." I replied.
"Wait! I wanna con-graduate you. You're actually more fun to play with than Ryder ." Ashton said.
"Haha thanks." I replied. I walked to the door. Ryder came back.
"We need a rematch sometime Alex!" Ashton yelled. I walked to the house door.
"Ashton's here?" Ryder asked me.
"Yeah. Well I gotta go." I said then left.i got back home. My mom was getting dressed and had a goodie basket. I went in the kitchen for a snack. She walked by.
"Where are you goin ?" I asked.
"Seeing how tyler is doing at the hospital. His mom and I are going now." My mom said. I didn't say anything back and proceeded to look for food. My mom was still standing there.
"Do you wanna come and see how Tyler's doing?" My mom asked. I didn't wanna seem rude by  saying no. But I have my ways.
"Yeah I think I have to finish some scripts for dad .." I replied. She left. You're probably wondering why I don't wanna visit him. I don't exactly know why I don't want to though. I was about to go for a run outside and saw Olivia feeling her pulse after she finished running. She saw me... Unfortunately.
"Alex ! Hi! I haven't seen you for a month!" Olivia said. I said hi trying to be nice. I really had no interest in speaking to her to be honest .
"So .. Did you hear about tyler? " olivia asked me.
"Uh yeah... And I heard he's alive..." I said.
"It's such a relief! I'm really glad he's fine. I've been seeing him everyday at the hospital! I'm just so blessed he's alive!" Olivia said. I wanted to leave and stop talking to her already.
"So umm how long is he gonna be in the hospital?" Olivia asked.
"Maybe 3 more weeks because they wanna make sure his back is okay till he walks." Olivia said.
