So, after the Dragonets ended the war, it skipped ahead one month. But what actually happened RIGHT after the war ended? After everyone bowed to Thorn and Clay woke up, it ends. I have a theory as to what happened, and I'll tell you in a one-shot. Note, let's pretend Starflight can see, and Clay was able to walk properly just a few hours after surviving the Dragonbite Viper.....And that there was a river near the Sandwing Stronghold. All I ask is that you remember one quote from Book 1. ""Next time we stop, we should shake mud all over her," Clay suggested."
The five dragonets of destiny stood outside of the Sandwing Stronghold. There was a river in front of them and Clay studied the mud on the banks, a slow smile growing on his face as an idea formed in his head. Behind them, Deathbringer and Fatespeaker watched. If anyone had asked, Deathbringer would've simply said that the D.O.D. were having a moment.
"What do we do now?" Tsunami asked suddenly. "We've fulfilled a destiny that we never really had, we found out families....Now what?"
"Well, I don't know about the future, but I know what I'm gonna do right now." Clay declared, scooping up a handful of mud from the riverbank. "Hey Sunny?" he asked.
"Yes?" she replied.
"Remember when we were traveling to the Diamond Spray Delta and Glory and Tsunami tricked us?"
"Yea."
"Do you remember what I suggested we do in return?"
"Oh yea."
"I would've done it too. But we never really stopped, did we?"
"No we didn't."
"Well, we've stopped now." he grinned. Sunny's eyes widened as she realized what was coming. Glory, Tsunami, and Starflight looked on in confusion. Clay smiled and tuned to Glory, before throwing the handful of mud right in her face. Deathbringer's jaw dropped as Glory's face got a mud facial. He smothered his laughter as Fatespeaker looked on worriedly. They both thought that somebody wasn't going to live much longer.
Glory glared at Clay as she wiped the mud from her face. The others were struggling to keep a straight face. Quietly, the Rainwing Queen reached down, grabbed a chunk of mud in each talon, and threw one back at Clay. He grinned.
"I'm a Mudwing," he reminded her. "I like this stuff."
"You might," Glory commented. "But she doesn't." she added, smashing the other handful of mud on to Tsunami's head. Sunny gasped as the Seawing fumed.
"Oh," she growled. "It's. ON." The five dragons dove for the riverbank and started tossing the mud at each other, laughing and shouting threats. Deathbringer and Fatespeaker watched them, amused, as more dragons from all tribes came out of the Stronghold and stopped at the sight.
"Come on Fatespeaker!" Starflight called, throwing a handful at her. Fatespeaker yelped as it hit her and ran at him, intent on burying the Nightwing in mud. Glory snuck away from the group and walked over to her bodyguard.
"You look good covered in mud." he noted, grinning smugly. She smirked at him and crushed a gooey clump of mud on him. Deathbringer gaped at her as she laughed.
"Alright, you asked for it." he warned her before literally picking up the Rainwing and carrying her to the riverbank.
"Deathbringer!" Glory shrieked. "Put me down!" Despite herself, she laughed still. He grinned. He knew how much she liked him, no matter what she said. He dumped her in the mud and a mini mud fight broke out between the two of them. Other dragons began to join in the fight, dragons of all tribes. Tsunami spotted Riptide standing nearby, talking to Nautilus. She grinned and grabbed a handful of mud before sneaking up on him.
"Hey Squidbrain," she called. Riptide turned around only to have a clump of mud smashed into his face. He smiled as Tsunami ran off laughing. He chased after her, ignoring Nautilus completely as he dove towards the riverbank, determined to get her back. Standing a safe distance away from the fight, was Queen Coral, Queen Glacier, and Queen Thorn. Thorn smiled at the mud fight, futility attempting to locate Sunny in the mob. The other queens frowned at the sight.
"This is terribly undignified," Glacier proclaimed.
"Oh come on Glacier, It's about time they had a bit of fun after so many years of war." Thorn countered. Before the Icewing could protest, mud was smashed onto Thorn and Coral and Tsunami and Sunny ran away screaming. Coral gaped in disgust, but Thorn grinned.
"Don't you dare." Glacier warned. Thorn smirked and scraped the mud from her head, tossed it at the Icewing Queen, and ran off after her daughter.
"Six-Claws! Qibli!" Thorn yelled. The former Outclaws jumped to her side. "You two versus Sunny and me!" she yelled, shoving Six-Claws into the mud.
"Yes!" Sunny yelled in agreement. It wasn't the only mini war shooting up. Elsewhere on the riverbank, Tsunami and Glory were chucking mud as Riptide and Deathbringer dove for cover. A document might have stated that the war was over, but this proved it. Dragons of all kinds were covered in mud, laughing and wrestling around. You couldn't tell the Skywings from the Sandwings, Seawings from Rainwings, Nightwings from Icewings. This was a true unity between the tribes, and it came straight from the river. Deathbringer slipped in the mud and fell to the ground. Glory slipped on top of him and shoved more mud in his face. She laughed as he wiped it away.
"You...." he warned. She smirked at him.
"Oh shush, you know you love me," she replied, cutting him off.
"Oh, I do? And, tell me, is that love returned, or am I wasting my time?" he asked. Glory studied him for a moment and smiled. Then she bent over and kissed him.
"What does that tell you?" she questioned, sitting back up. He stared at her for a moment, but just a moment. The rest of the fight around them faded away as he sat up and kissed her back, resting one of his talons on the back of her head.
Clay tossed another bit of mud and turned. He froze and the grin faded fro his face as he spotted the two dragons kissing on the mud covered ground. Could it be? He reached out and tapped the dragon next to him. Starflight turned and froze in shock. Glory?.....He smacked the dragon next to him on the arm. Tsunami glanced over and her jaw dropped. What the... She tapped the dragon next to her. Sunny looked over and gasped. Glory...and DEATHBRINGER!?!?
Ta-da! That's just what I imagine happening, anyway. Hope you liked it! I really can't resist any opportunity to write Glorybringer....
