I FINALLY GOT DRAGONSLAYER!!!!!

Took me long enough, I know, but here's basically my brain dump of stuff I thought while reading it.

IT'S AMAZING, YOU SHOULD READ IT, AND IF YOU'RE NOT READING IT BECAUSE YOU THINK IT'S JUST ABOUT THE SCAVENGERS WHO KILLED OASIS THEN THINK AGAIN BECAUSE IT'S NOT MAINLY ABOUT THEM, THEY'RE MOSTLY SIDE CHARACTERS!

SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

OMG One of the characters is named Wren. It's always awkward yet fun when a canon character has the same name as one of my ocs.

Ok, I NEED TO KNOW WHO THE LITTLE BABY DRAGON IS. TWO THOUGHTS ALREADY AFTER ONLY READING THE FIRST CHAPTER-

1. It's the baby Skywing they kill at the start of book one, since the events of this book take place between books 1-5. Unlikely, but possible.

2. It's Peril's brother because it said the draogn had BLUE eyes, like Peril's, and seems weak (sorry lil baby dragon) and they said Peril took the fire from her brother, so that could explain weakness. Plus there was a dragon with a scar running around, who I assume was Scarlet, but that makes me confused because she wouldn't have the scar from Glory's magical death spit until years later, so then I was tihnking that's a young Kestrel, but I don't remember there ever being a mention of Kestrel having some sort of scar on her face.

WHO ARE YOU BABY SKYWING?!?!

"It's an animal, Ivy. It doesn't have feelings."

Dragons....Not having feelings....EXCUSE ME!?!!??!!?!? TELL THAT TO THE DRAGONETS OF DESTINY WHEN CLAY GOT BIT BY THE VIPER. TELL THAT TO RUBY WHEN SHE FOUND OUT SCARLET HAD CLIFF- TELL THAT TO ANY DRAGON EVER (well, except maybe Winter's parents) DRAGONS HAVE MORE FEELINGS THEN YOU DO, HEARTLESS HUMAN!!!!

IVVVVYYYYYYY

IVY IS MY FAVORITE SO FAR.

Okay, so baby dragon is abandoned as a BABY. And I know Moon talked the day she hatched, but baby is found by Wrenl, who is a human, and doesn't speak dragon. So how does baby know the dragon language? Are dragons just born with completel knowledge of their language? I'm confused.

Also this book is COMPLETELY throwing off the human to dragon ratio I had been previously thinking of for the past 13 or so books, because I thought dragons were SUPER HUGE in comparison to humans, but now it's sounding like they're much closer in size than I'd previously thought, so my mental picture of what's happening in the story keeps changing.

OKAY, AND ONE THING THAT'S ALWAYS BOTHERED ME, SINCE BOOK 1, ABOUT SCAVENGERS STEALING QUEEN OASIS'S TREASURE AND NOW HOW HEATH AND STONE KILLED HER-

HUMANS ARE SMALLER THAN DRAGONS. DRAGONS ARE BIG.

HOW CAN A HUMAN WIELD A SWORD MADE FOR A DRAGON!?!?!

HOW CAN HUMANS CARRY DRAGON SIZED TREASURE, LET ALONE FOUR STUFFED SACKS OF IT????

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. YOU CAN'T SAY DRAGONS ARE BIGGER THAN THEM AND THEN EXPECT DRAGON AND HUMAN OBJECTS TO BE LOGICALLY USABLE BY BOTH.

URGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH I DON'T GET THAT.

And I feel like I'm trashing this book now, which I'm NOT, even though I know a lot of people have said they're not gonna read Dragonslayer/don't care about it because we've heard enough about the night Oasis died or because it's from scavengers POV's or whatever reason. I think I'm just going into this book more skeptical than I have with any other WOF book BECAUSE it's about scavengers.

I assume the fandom will still say scavengers even though the term human is used.

AND I LOVE HOW THE GUIDE SAYS RAINWINGS ARE DANGEROUS AND NIGHTWINGS AREN'T SPECIAL PFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTT
