Okay, for starters, sorry this isn't a new Time Travel part, but I NEED YOUR HELP! I'm entering a writing competition, but I don't know which one of these pieces I should enter.

So.... It would be really great if you could tell my which one you like better! And you don't have to be nice- I want criticism in this. Tell me what you think could be better about it!

(The first place winner gets $500 dollars, so that's pretty sweet..)

And, maybe if enough of you like these, I'll write the rest of the book on wattpad!

Option 1.

A wish is a strange thing. It is a hope, a want, a need. We wish on things we believe to be lucky, pray that what we desire will happen. And sometimes, our wishes do come true. But not always in the way we expect them to. This can be a good thing, or it can be awful. It's up to you to decide. In this particular story, however, no one can truly say if wishes changed lives for the better.

On the coastline of Tamil Nadu, a state in India, there was a small village called Maut. In this village there was a lonely girl called Anahita Morze. Anahita had no family, no home, no love. No one thought anything of her, until the flood. A monsoon turned devastating in the town, and water flooded everything from the roads to homes. On the night of the flood, Anahita ran from the water by climbing a fire escape and looked to the sky. There was one star that seemed brighter than the others, and at a time like this, it seemed like a good time to wish.

In Oymyakon, Russia, there was an orphanage. Seeing as it was one of the coldest places on Earth, it surprised no one that people froze to death often; thus, an orphanage was necessary. In this orphanage was a girl named Nuria Ogien. Nuria had a reputation for being fierce. She got into fights. A lot. She did crazy things, without any regard for the consequences. The town thought she was mad, so no one really cared when she ran from the orphanage and vanished into the cold, deserted reaches of Oymyakon. A few days passed and she didn't return. Everyone assumed she froze to death and moved on. But Nuria didn't die. As night fell, she was sitting in the snow, wearing nothing but the pajamas the orphanage had given her. No socks, no shoes, no coat. She shivered violently, slowly freezing to death as she glanced at the sky. She spotted a star, brighter than the others. It seemed like a perfect time for a wish.

On the edge of Aokigahara, Japan, the suicide forest, stood two boys. Out of the two, only one was of any importance to this tale. His name was Tivon Kwiat. Tivon was from a poor family, one with too many children. The boy next to him was his brother. Their sister and baby brothers were safe at home, but their parents had left them at the edge of the forest, telling them that only one was allowed to come home. If the other could survive in the forest, they too, would be allowed back. But neither of them wanted to go in. This was Aokigahara! They'd never even heard of someone coming out of it alive before. Out of the two, Tivon was the youngest child, the unimportant one now that his brothers had been born. It was for this reason that the eldest boy shoved Tivon at the trees and took off for home, leaving him for dead. But Tivon refused to go down without a fight. As he walked into the forest, he was sure he would survive. But there was a problem. Any edible plants he could find refused to stay alive. It was as if even the plants in Aokigahara chose to die. He stared at the small bit of sky he could see, at the lone star that was brighter than any one he would ever see. And he wished.

In a flat in London, England, a boy stared out his window at the sky, at the brightest star he could see, trying to drown out his life in the light. This boy was called Enlil Wiatry. He lived with his mother, his little sister, and his step-father. But his step-father was a brutal man, one that hit him and his mother at any opportunity.
