I sit on the floor after my short shower. I don't know what to think. What the hell does the tattoo mean? When did I even get it? Must have been the before me, before I lost my memory. I'm freaking out, I have a tattoo. I need water, my head is spinning. It's way too humid in here from the hot and steamy shower. I head out of the bathroom and immediately I'm hit with fresh air. I feel dirty knowing I have a tattoo, I can be over reacting but it's so strange. The only other person I know who has a tattoo is Sawyer. Wait maybe Sawyer could help. I clear that thought away knowing he won't, not even if I begged. Does Drew have one?
"Can't sleep?" I'm startled from Drew's voice. He's sitting on the kitchen table. He looks at me waiting for an answer.
"Too much on my mind." I tell him with a sad smile. He gets up and grabs a glass and fills it with water.
"Don't think about running into the woods." He warns me and gives me the glass. I softly laugh, I'm done chasing shadows.
"I'm not." I tell him, although I have something else planned in mind. He smiles, happy with my reply.
"Do you think you'd ever find your family?" I ask wanting to know how he feels. I'm used to his long periods of stares, he takes a while to respond. He looks away from me and just shrugs. Hmm he usually answers.
"Has Sawyer found any leads?" I ask, since he told me Sawyer was the only one wanting to 'help'. His back is towards me and he shrugs once again. Dammit, Sawyer syndrome has gotten to Drew. He doesn't give straight answers. I look at him skeptically, even though he can't see me. "You're telling me you don't know anything. The months you've been here, you found nothing?" I question further. He stays quiet once again and I huff out in annoyance.
"Make sure you don't go out on your own, if you hear a noise call me. I just came out here to get a glass of water for Lisa. Goodnight Op..." he pauses then continues. "Maple." And speed walks to his room. Why is everyone acting so weird or stranger than usual? It's not that late, maybe nine or ten. I wait till I know everyone is asleep and head out. I know Drew and Lisa are both heavy sleepers, I think. I sneak out the front door, and sprint for a few minutes. I turn to make sure Drew isn't after me or if anyone is around. When everything is quiet I head to Sawyers house. I need answers and I plan on getting them out of Sawyer tonight.
I'm used to the streets and I'm familiar with everything around, it doesn't take long for me to be right at Sawyers front gate. Luckily it's opened and not locked. I walk the long drive way up to his front door, hoping someone will answer. I knock a couple of times and hear nothing. I keep knocking for a good five minutes when Sawyer swings open the door, his face angry.
"Of course it's you." He says rolling his eyes. "You're the only fucking person who knocks." He says annoyed. No matter what he says I'm not leaving. I watch as he looks back inside the house and turns to me. He closes the door, so I can't see what's behind him. "You can't be here Opal." Sawyer says sternly. I cross my arms and continue to stand there. He looks at me one more time, rolls his eyes and starts to close the door. I stick my foot out to block the door from closing, it hurts, but I keep my foot in place.
"I want answers." I tell him bitterly.
"I don't have the answers you're looking for." He tells me. But I don't believe him at all.
"I know you do, you're observant and you know everything about a person from just one single glance. You must have something." I plead, his face stares at mine for a moment. He closes his eyes and breaths out loudly.
"You can't be here." He tells me one more time. I stand there not moving.
"No, something is weird. Drew looks at me like he doesn't trust me. What did you tell him?" His face is still blank, but I can tell he's breaking.
