As soon as I enter the room, the phone starts to buzz. I stare at the screen, an unknown number.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, my palms are sweaty and my heart is beating fast. I walk to the window, making sure I see no one in the woods or the backyard.
I slowly flip the phone open, and put the phone up to my ear.
"Hello?" I answer, not sure why I'm all of a sudden afraid. I turn around biting my lip waiting for someone to answer.
I jump startled when Sawyer is standing in the middle of the room, his index finger on his lips.
"Anderson?" The other line finally answers.
I nod, but remember I'm talking on the phone.
"Yes?" I question. I'm distracted by Sawyers presence. His eyebrows are furrowed, and his concentration is fully on me. It's intimidating that he's watching my every move, his hands are crossed under his armpit and his thumbs are drumming against his chest.
"Are you alone?" A male voice asks, and I'm not sure who I'm talking to. My eyes immediately glide to Sawyer and Sawyer nods, already knowing what they're asking.
"Yes." I try saying sternly and the line goes quiet.
"Good after noon, Anderson. It seems like you made the right decision. Welcome ." A female voice now answers, it's familiar. I'm sure it was the uptight lady from the time we met.
"Yes." I say again. And I catch Sawyer roll his eyes. He's probably bored by my 'yes' answers.
"You know what you have to do. Good luck and don't get caught." She commands and quickly hangs up.
I feel like they're still listening in from the phone so I shut it off and stuff it under some clothes.
"They just wanted to know if I was on their side and I said yes." I tell Sawyer with a shrug, and he nods.
"What are you going to do?" I ask, still concerned about Evan and Sawyer.
I don't know the first thing about being undercover, I mean, I've already been caught.
And if they know I've been playing them, then I will be in tremendous amount of trouble.
Sawyer walks over to me, and takes the sides of my arms, his eyes soften after noticing my worried expression.
"Evan is taking care of everything. You're okay. Just lead a normal life." Sawyer shrugs, his tone of voice nonchalant.
I glare at him, easy for him to say. He ignores my glare and walks out of the room.
I slam the door behind him, and huff out.
What if I play both sides? Somehow make them both work in my favor?
I get the information I want from Sawyer, tell the FBI people half the truth, until they give me the whole truth? That way I won't be fully in the dark.
I walk downstairs and find Sawyer and Mia sitting in the living room, opposite of each other. Mia is on her computer and Sawyer is reading. They both don't acknowledge me, so I make way into the kitchen.
It's lunch time and I'm starving. I grab a bowl and serve myself cereal. I debate eating on the table or walking back to the room.
I walk back out into the living room, mid spoon full, Sawyer stops me.
"Opal..." He calls out.
"Yea?" I say with my moth full.
"Umm, I ermm, thought maybe you can join us for dinner. Since Nancy won't be here today." Sawyer stutters and looks at Mia. I'm caught off guard by how nervous he sounds. At the sound of Sawyers voice Mia looks up, but she looks annoyed.
