I gave myself two weeks to think about going to that appointment. As soon as Sawyer pushes me over the edge then I'm doing it. But for now they think I already went through with it, so I have to learn to hide my true facial expressions from Sawyer.
It's been two days. I'm surprised Sawyer hasn't showed up randomly.
I managed to sneak out early this morning to come to the library and print a few fake documents about my condition; my fake condition. Which isn't fake, but I know nothing about.
I have to make this believable, since Sawyer is a doctor. He will probably catch on quicker if I don't play this right. Hopefully I guilt trip them enough that both or at least Drew will budge and spill.
I print out documents on what I may have and test results. I place them in my bag and head to Sawyers house, I want to see Ezra. If Sawyer is there then I'm leaving.
Before I head to Sawyers, I stop by a little store and grab a few snacks and toys for Ezra. He seems like he likes chocolate and small race cars, hopefully he does. I put everything in my bag, and I can picture Ezra's smile when I give him what I got.
The bus ride to Sawyers takes ten minutes. I walk the long drive way up and when I don't see Sawyers car, I smile. Good he isn't here.
I knock a couple of times and try opening the door but it's locked. I try knocking louder and I finally hear the locks being unlocked. The door swings open and Sawyer is standing there, his curls messy, and like he just woke up.
His eyes widen in surprise then they morph into concern, but when he eyes me and sees that my face is neutral and that nothing is wrong, he starts to smirk.
"Did you miss me?" He asks, a hint of a devilish grin in his eyes.
"No," I reply, trying not to let my real feelings slowly crawl it's way onto my face and satisfy his cruel curiosity. I look around behind me, making sure that his car really isn't here, and it isn't.
"It's in the shop." He answers my question.
"I hate this town and I hate you." I continue, my eyebrows scrunched and I glare at him. I push him out of the way, and make my way inside.
He is making me angry, so I'll make him angry.
"I came to see Nancy." I tell him and he rolls his eyes and points to the kitchen. I make my way over there.
Nancy sees me and immediately smiles, and I go in for a hug. She's the only motherly figure I have in my life, and it feels good that she cares about me.
"How are you?" She questions. "Are you hungry?..." She asks before I can answer the first. She spins me around, "Are they feeding you over there?" Her face concerned. I laugh and answer all three with one big yes.
"Sit, you're just on time for breakfast." She says and I do as she says.
Sawyer walks into the kitchen, shirtless. I try not to pay attention to him, but I catch sight of the scars; the same ones Ezra has. How did they get them?
I watch Sawyer put in bread in the toaster and he turns around and catches me staring. I quickly turn away, but I still feel Sawyers eyes on me.
"How did the appointment go?" He asks, I can hear the anger behind his voice.
"None of your business." I tell him. Nancy looks at me then at Sawyer, but stays quiet.
"Did you find the answers you were looking for?" He questions, one eye brow raised.
"Results haven't come in yet." I slowly tell him.
"What's in your bag then?" He asks and I look down at my bag, and hold it tighter. How does he figure this stuff out? He can't know what's in here.
