It's been a week since I've left Sawyers house, and his unfinished thought keeps reminding me that he wanted to say something, but didn't. Turns out it wasn't Carter waiting for me outside, but his sister, Olivia. Sawyer must have glanced at the car and assumed it was him. Olivia's excuse for randomly showing up, was that she was in the neighborhood and wanted to hang out.

The guilt of everything I've done the past week is eating me alive. Especially giving Nancy the cough medicine that makes you drowsy. And leaving Ezra without warning, all my thoughts are mainly on Ezra. I constantly worry if he's okay.

"Hello?" Carter snaps his fingers. My eyes focus out of the daze I was just in. I stare at him for a bit too long and he gives me a questioning look.

"Sorry." I apologize, my focus being consumed by things that don't make sense rather than on school.

"The test is tomorrow, no pressure." Carter jokes with a laugh. I've memorized the whole chapter the first time I read it, so Carter wanting to repeat everything one hundred times over, just gave me a headache.

"We've been studying for four hours. I need a break." I dramatically lay my head on the table, and close my eyes. The more I go to school the more I want to drop out and leave. Sawyer is right, it's a waste of time, at least for me.

"Okay, fine." Carter huffs, his hair was neatly combed when he picked me up from Drew's house, but the stress has got to him and his hair is sticking up in all sorts of places, it's kind of cute. "We can order dinner, on me." He says with a smile. He flags down a waiter and he starts to order.

This place is packed and the most popular restaurant in town, according to Carter. It was empty when we arrived and now it's crowded and there's a line going out the door. I watch as the line continues to grow. I turn back to Carter and he's already looking at me,

"Told you." He says with a toothy smile. He knew I didn't believe him when he said this place was popular.

"Good thing we came early." I tell him, I feel uneasy with so many people around me and I take a sip of my ice water to calm myself down. The restaurant is large enough to house the amount of people waiting outside, it's two stories.

"Are you nervous for the exam tomorrow?" He asks, when things go silent. I'm really not, I'm overly prepared.

"A little." I lie, I find it strange that learning new things comes easy to me. Maybe I'm getting my memory back, what if I've learned this all before?

"A few more hours of studying will do." He assures me, and I smile. The thing I like about Carter is he never asks about anything personal, it's all school related or about him. I stare down at the food placed before me, I ordered a bowl of spaghetti.

"This looks and smells good." I smile and look at Carter.

"Look behind you, but don't make it obvious." Carter leans forward and whispers. I turn my whole body around,

"Where?" I say, eyeing everyone walking in. I turn back to Carter he has his hand on his forehead and he's shaking his head,

"I said not to make it obvious." He whisper yells, with a small laugh. I shrug sheepishly, and feel my face heat up. "Okay, turn around now." He says with a nod, I subtly turn my head and pretend to look around. At first I'm not sure what he wants me to look at, but when I see a towering figure dressed in a black suit, my eyes widen.
