The year it all Started: Year 3025

I check the time, it's almost eight in the evening and Sawyer and Evan haven't been back in days.

I hear a swoosh down in the basement and rush down there to find Sawyer and Evan laughing their butts off.

"What are you guys wearing?" I try to keep a serious tone, but I really want to laugh at how ridiculous they look.

They're wearing loose fitted trousers with a loose fitted white shirt, or at least was once white. And don't get me started on the funny boots they're wearing.

"Mining boots." Sawyer says out loud, answering my thoughts.

Sawyer and Evan both make eye contact and laugh again, speaking in a different language.

Frustration is seeping in as I watch them bond.

"Get showered." I command and both of them stop.

"O nie, znowu jest wkurzona." (Polish: Oh no she's pissed off again.) Sawyer snorts and Evan laughs agreeing to whatever he said.

I stand at the steps and wait for them to get out their laughs and they eventually walk towards the steps.

I smell it before they pass by me, they're drunk.  Heavy alcohol.

Evan walks pass by me first and I stand in front of Sawyer, blocking his way upstairs before he can escape. He rolls his eyes and tries pushing pass me.

"You've been gone two weeks. You know the dangers and risks." I harshly whisper.

"See you tomorrow." Evan shouts and Sawyer shouts a quick okay. His attention returns to me and I cross my arms.

"We were careful..." Sawyer says. I look at the stop watch he's holding wanting to hide it forever.

"You're messing with time. Someone will catch you." I warn, my voice pleading.

"We went to dig gold in the gold mines in California. Not a big deal. You're over reacting." Sawyer says with a shrug.

"Why?" I question.

"We were testing how far back we can go." He says again and pushes me gently up one stair. His hands are around my waist and look down at him, disappointed.

"If someone catches you with that thing, I don't know what I would do." I confess, my voice in a small whisper.

Sawyer pulls me down to his level and kisses me on the nose.

"I'll be fine." He says.

"You smell awful." I push him away and he gives me a mischievous look.

"Join me?"

I smile and he pulls me with him. Sawyer already has his shirt off and I'm about to take mine off, when we both freeze, hearing Evan cough awkwardly.

He's standing in the middle of the living room and I quickly pull my shirt back down.

"Just came back for the soup you packed."
