"See you later today." Carter smiles, leaning over to kiss me on the cheek. I smile at him and nod,
"Pick me up around five." I tell him and he nods. I get out of the car and spread out the little wrinkles that are on my uniform. I straighten my messenger bag, with everything I need.
As soon as Carter pulls away, my smile falls. Another pointless day at the hospital. I walk into the hospital, show my badge and make my way to the fourth floor. I'm in training to be a nurse and right now I help out the nurses, getting hands on.
Axel is the CEO of the hospital and the only connection that will get me answers to Sawyer. I know Sawyer warned me a thousand times not to trust Axel, or anyone for that matter, but I'm desperate and weird things are going on.
He wanted Sawyer to join his company, I'm not sure with and for what.
As soon as my shift is over I head to the nearest public library so I can review every street camera footage, until I find a clue.
"Back for more Ms. Pierce?" The librarian, Mrs. Harriet asks. And I wave hello to her. I don't have a last name so I took Sawyers.
"Research for my new book." I lie to her and she smiles.
"Let me see what you got drawn in there." She says, her voice loud. I look down, not wanting any attention drawn on us.
"Oh come on now, don't be shy." She says and gestures for me to come closer. I take out my brown leather journal, I bought weeks ago and hand it to her. She quickly puts on her glasses that are hanging around her neck and smiles at me.
She flips through the pages, I hear her 'hmm' a few times and her eyes widen a few.
"I don't believe you drew these..." She says, not looking up, too captivated by the drawings. I know it's freaky, and I just figured out I can draw not that long ago.
"They're so life like, you should draw something so I can hang it in this library, give it some life." She says and I look at her not knowing what to say.
"Sure, I'll surprise you." I tell her and she smiles, handing back the journal.
I head to the back of the library and grab the janitors key and I open the door that leads me to a room of computers.
I picked up on a little hacking skill while I was at school and now here I am, hacking security cameras.
I type in Sawyers old address and like the hundredth time I've seen this video, everything is the same. I'm seen leaving in Evans car and then nothing happens for the rest of the night.
I hack into a different street camera to see if I can get a different street angle, but it's the same. I'm leaving with Evan and then nothing.
I continue replaying and watching and making it go in slow motion and then I notice something. I notice there's a little pause before it skips to there being nothing the rest of the night.
I pull at my hair, ugh.
This footage may be tampered with and the the real footage is with the police or Sawyer was so cautious enough that he deleted all evidence of him leaving.
The door to the computer room turns and I quickly exit and hide under the desk. I hear the security guard whistle and walk in. I slowly crawl and make my way to the door and once he's occupied, and his back is to me, I exit the room. Thank God for earphones.
It's almost five in fifteen minutes, that will give me enough time to walk back to the hospital.
"See you tomorrow, darling." Harriet says as she sees me exiting the library and I wave her goodbye.
