Amy:POV
"Can you believe it, Bob? She's friends with Spencer again!" I shout, and he rolls his eyes.
"Honey, it's her life! But no, I'm not happy about it either." Bob says, and crosses his arms. Teddy should not be with Spencer, I mean, he broke her heart twice! How any more times will he break her heart for her to learn that she shouldn't be anywhere near him? "Uh oh. You're not plotting are you?" He asks, and I smirk.
"Come one now, Bob. I'm Amy Duncan, you know I'm plotting." I say with a shrug, and he shakes his head.
"Amy." Bob says sternly.
"Bob." I whine.
"I swear, it's like having a sixth child." He mumbles. I scoff and roll my eyes. He's right, but that doesn't mean that I won't get mad. I sit down on the crappy motel couch and cross my arms. Gabe walks into the living room, and groans when he sees me pouting.
"What's wrong now, Mom?" He asks.
"Teddy is friends with Spencer again." I say, and he looks at me like I'm crazy. "What?" I ask.
"What's wrong with Spencer being with Teddy? They're the happiest when they're with each other." Gabe says, and I shake my head.
"No, they're not."
"Yes, they are."
"No, they're not."
"Yes, they are."
"Both of you, stop!" Bob yells, and we both look up at him. "Amy, you are not going to to interfere. Don't forget about how much Teddy helped this family when we went missing."
"I-I know." I say with a sigh, and Bob nods his head.
"Good." Bob says.
"I just worry, you know?" I say, and Bob takes a seat next to me.
"I know, honey. But sometimes, you have to loosen the grip on the reins a little bit, if you don't, Teddy will just resent you." He says, and I lean back on the couch.
"Teddy knows that she's adopted now. What is she leaves?" I ask, and Bob laughs.
"So that's what this is about." He says, and puts a hand on my shoulder. Gabe shifts uncomfortably, and stands up to leave. "Honey, you know that Teddy loves you, why would she ever leave?" Bob asks, and I shrug my shoulders.
"Well, she knows we're not really her parents, Bob. If I were her, I would be furious with us. I mean, we did take too long to tell her the truth." I say sadly.
"Everything will be okay." Bob says, and kisses my forehead.
Spencer:POV
I stare at the address that Teddy texted, and furrow my eyebrows. I don't have any idea where this house is, and don't know who's it is. I walk out of the almost empty airport, and start to head into the direction of that unknown house. I really hope that things between me and Teddy won't be awkward. I did break her heart twice. Twice. It haunts me everyday, and I'm hoping that I can somehow make up for it. I arrive at the front of the unfamiliar house, and knock the front door. The door opens, and Teddy jumps into my arms.
"I missed you so much!" She shouts, and I wrap my arms around her.
"I missed you too." I mumble, and hold her tighter.
"I have so much to tell you." Teddy says as she pulls away. "Come in!" She says, and we walk in.
"Wow, this is a really nice place." I say, and she blushes.
"Thanks, I just cleaned it." She says. "Are you hungry?" Teddy asks, and shoving her hands in her jean pockets.
"Yes, actually. Want to go get dinner? My treat." I offer, and she nods excitedly.
"This is just as friends, right?" Teddy asks, and it feels like a arrow to my heart.
"Of course." I say with a fake smile. We walk out to the driveway, and she offers to drive.
"So, where do you want to eat?" She asks, and I shrug.
"Olive Garden?" I ask, and she makes a turn to the left.
"So, how was your plane ride?" She asks.
"It was good. Boring." I say, and she nods her head. "So, who's house were we just at?" I ask, and she laughs.
"I forgot to tell you, I'm roommates with Ivy." Teddy says, and I gape at her.
"Um, didn't she betray you?" I ask.
"I really do have a lot to tell you." Teddy says with a small laugh. She parks in the crowded restaurant parking-lot, and we get out of the car. "It's a beautiful night, isn't it?" She says, and I bit my bottom lip. Not as beautiful as you, I want to say, but I keep my mouth shut, and nod. We walk inside, and she holds my hand. It's just reflex, I think, trying to convince myself.
"Table for two?" The hostess asks. Teddy nods happily, and she takes us over to a table. I pull out Teddy's chair for her, and she mumbles a quiet "Thank you".
"So. what's been going on?" I ask her, and she rests her chin in the palm of her hands.
"More like, what hasn't been going on?"
