Last straw

"Hey, Johnny-boy, question? How do you tell me and Nyx apart? Because we're basically identical, and if you two do decide to pursue something, that could get awkward real fast."

Sebastian considered 'accidentally' dropping a boulder onto Alysha.
Instead, he rolled his eyes irritably.

"Aside from the fact that your eyes are different colours, you're the only person who seems happy to be here, and you verbally poke me every opportunity you get? Gee, I don't know." He said dryly.

"But if I didn't do that stuff, you'd mistake me for Nyx?"

"No."

"Why not? How do you know you wouldn't?"

"Guys, this isn't the the time to discuss this, okay?" Nyx said, straining with her end of the current slab of rock they were trying to shift.

Alysha reached over to help her. "Sorry, Sweetie. Got distracted. Seriously though, not even, like, from a distance?"

"Depends how much distance. It'd have to be a lot. Honestly, you two aren't that similar."

"Really?" Alysha raised an eyebrow. "Other than the eyes, we're physically identical, so actually, we are that similar."

"Again, still not the time!"

"The face doesn't make the person." He said grimly.

Alysha smirked. "Oh, you so want that to be true. But if it is, why don't you prove it."

A tense silence filled the air. Nyx could count each of the oh-too-long seconds of silence.

Alysha's lips curved cruelly. "Because you can't. And because really, you don't want to. You're just in denial."

"Okay, Alysha, you are purposefully picking a fight now." Nyx said firmly. "Just stop, okay? I don't care who thinks they're who, or who's in denial about what, or who wants who to agree with what. You know what I want? I want to see my Mum. I want to tell my family I'm okay. And I want to not die in this underground hole!
So shut up, and get to work!"

They both looked at her, stunned by her outburst.
Then, silently, they began to work.

Good for Nyx!
Give them a good kick up the ass!
Seriously though, Alysha is on a mission to see how far she can push Sebastian, seemingly just for kicks.
