The hole appeared a short while later.
A small hole in the ceiling of the main chamber, a pinprick of either early morning or late evening sunlight shining through the ceiling as someone lifted a rock away.
A light a bit like a torch beam was shone down into the hole, causing Nyx to initially shield her eyes, blinking profusely at the change in the light.
Tentatively, she stepped forwards, into the view of the beam.
A man's voice called down. "Hello?"
"Hello!" Nyx called upwards in reply, uncontrollably grinning the brightest smile she had in what felt like a long while.
"Are you one of the girls that was reported going missing in the land shift?"
"No, we live down here." Luci yelled up sarcastically.
There was a loud flurry of movement, and suddenly, with a newly enthusiastic springing step, Alysha appeared next to Nyx, looking up at the opening, an eager look on her face.
Nyx shuffled a couple steps away from her, putting a more comfortable distance between them.
Alysha seemed not to notice, instead staring intently up at the hole, stepping forwards in an almost hypnotised fashion towards the light.
"Can you get us out of here?" She asked, her voice unusually soft, and surprisingly polite, almost timid. "Quickly? Please."
"We're going to try to clear a large enough hole to pull you out. Are you three okay? Nobody's injured?"
"Um... We three personally aren't too bad..."
"Speak for yourself." Luci interrupted. "My head still really hurts, but nobody seems to care about the concussion I got."
"Okay, her head hurts, but the thing is, we also have a friend down here with a more serious injury. She can't walk, can't even stand. It might be difficult to get her out."
"Okay. We'll work something out. Hang in there."
Sorry I didn't update yesterday. Stuff happened to distract me and time just slipped away.
