"You know what? You investigate your conspiracy theories, I'm taking the kids back to their homes."
Travis said, watching Julianna rifling through Evelyn's folder.Julianna shrugged, not really listening.
"O...Kay then. I'm going." He turned to the door and walked out, returning to the others.
He clapped his hands together enthusiastically. "Right then. Home time."
"I don't want to go yet." Billy said moodily.
Travis groaned, exasperated.
Surprisingly, it was Wesley who came to his rescue. "But mum said we could make pizzas for dinner, and if we don't get home 'fore then, we won't be allowed."
Rigsy's face lit up. He hopped up and down excitedly, clapping his hands. "Yeah, yeah, yeah! Pizza, pizza, pizza!"
Billy crossed his arms, giving them both a look that said 'I think you're both incredibly juvenile', but begrudgingly agreed. "Fine."
A short while later, Nick was trying to keep focus on the road, whilst the three children whined, hiccuped and play-slapped each other in the back.
Next to him, Selene sat, teeth clenched, trying to resist the urge to scream at them. They'd only been in the car five minutes.
"God, this is going to be the longest fifteen minute drive in the history of everything." Selene muttered irritably.
"Sure we can't just make them walk home? They managed to walk it in reverse the first time!""I would, if I didn't get the feeling at least one of them wouldn't make it home, deciding to go god-knows-where instead."
Travis replied, turning down a small side-road. "This the right way, Wes?""Yeah, the little hotel is that way!" She said, breaking off her conversation with Billy for a second to answer, then turning back.
Finally, they pulled up at the place.
"Right then. Everyone out. I'll walk you in." Travis said, climbing out.
