Chapter 9 - Role Play

Matapos matanggap ni Raine ang tawag ni Rose bumalik na sila sa hotel room.  Pinagbuksan sila ni Rose, pinapasok at pinaupo sa couch.

Rose: Where do you live?

Ace: Dito din po sa Makati, am staying sa condo ng Kuya ko yung bestfriend po ni Jerome don po sa Jazz Residence. I'm a working student, Barista po ako sa Starbucks Branch sa may Reposo.

Rose: Here is your pay, iniwan ni RR sa akin eh. Here's my Tip for helping us out.

Iniabot sa kanya ang isang envelope at isang libong iso.

Ace: Huwag na po. Sobra na to eh.

Rose: No, I insist babalik ka pa dito bukas. Mababawasan pa yang pangbayad mo sa graduation fee. Do you have anything formal to wear tomorow?

Ace: May slacks at long sleeves naman po ako sa condo, isang beses pa lang nasusuot ginamit ko sa photoshoot for my grad pics.

Rose: Good then, the wedding is at 10am so be here around 9.

Ace: Ok po. Salamat po ulit dito, malaking tulong po talaga ito.

Rose: Sabi mo working student ka? How are your grades?

Ace: Dean's Lister po ako sa USTE.

Rose:  Ok if this plan works out I will give you a scholarship, sagot ko na ang tuition fee mo for the rest of your last year in college.

Ace:  Ho?

Rose:  You heard me right, kung sakali at magkatotoo yang role play ninyo ang gusto kong maging boyfriend ng pinsan ko is someone who has a degree in college.

Ace:  Salamat po, Ate.

Tumingin si Ace, kay Raine...

Ace:  When I first looked at you akala ko nakakita ako ng anghel, now I must be right, you are my angel.

Ngumiti ito.

Ace: Tutuloy na po ako ate. Salamat po ulit.

Rose: Take care.  We'll see you tomorrow.

Tumayo na ito.

Rose:  Oh, take him to the door and say goodnight properly. Practice makes perfect you know. You will have to be convincing tomorrow.

Tumayo naman si Raine at inihatid si Ace sa pinto.

Ace:  I'll see you tomorrow then?

Raine:  I guess.

Ace:  I am supposed to say sorry for putting you in this situation but sorry, I'm not sorry. So, I'll just say thank you.

Raine:  Whatever!

Ace:  Don't worry, it only takes a couple of hours to like me. So before the end of the day tomorow, you'll probably like me as a person then we can start all over again and make this right.

Raine:  Mayabang ka din eh no.

Ace:  Nagsasabi lang ako ng totoo. I promise if you don't end up liking me by the end of the day tomorow. Hindi na ako magpapakita pa sa yo. Deal?

Inabot nito ang kamay kay Raine.

Raine: Deal!

Pagabot niya ng kamay ni Raine, bahagya niya itong hinila at hinalikan sa labi. Hindi nakakilos si Raine, napapikit na lang. After five seconds, inilayo ni Ace ang mukha. Nagmulat ng mata si Raine nakita niyang nakatitig ito sa mukha niya.

Ace:  You took my first kiss, so I just took yours, para fair. Goodnight Babe!

Ngumiti ito at umalis na. Pagsara niya ng pinto. Nakatingin si Rose sa kanya.
