In "Season 1, Episode 7: The Elopement", at the end of the episode after Mary and Darryl (Lane's terminal cancer patient) leave the hospital Conrad asked Nic to tell him everything about everything that she knows about Lane Hunter. This might have been the conversation.

Conrad and Nic watches as Mary and Darryl Philips left the hospital. Darryl was leaving because Lane was trying to have a procedure that he didn't want to have, Conrad didn't want him to have the procedure, especially the one that he had, first, since there was a complication. So Conrad and Nic helped him, to walk out of the hospital.
Before they both left, Mary told then they make a good couple. Then Conrad looked over at Nic and said, "Lane Hunter, tell me everything".
Nic and Conrad walked into a empty room, locked the door and closed the blinds, and told him everything that she had found out.
