(No one's POV)

Lane was sitting in her holding cell. She was thinking about what her lawyer said about what she should do about the charges that were brought against her. She finally made her choice. No sooner, had she made it, then, her lawyer showed up.

"Lane", her lawyer said, walking into the cell along with Lane. "No need to stand up Lane", she said, as when she did come in the room. Lane had stood up.

Then Lane's lawyer became very serious, and said, "Lane have you reached your decision, for what you are going to do", she asked.

"I've decided that I'm going to plead guilty, but still want a trial, and I'm willing to risk it", Lane said.

Her lawyer looked at her and said, "Lane, what, th-that's never been done before", she said, stammering.

Lane looked at her and said, "Yes I know, but I'm willing to risk it".

Her lawyer looked at her and said, "Okay, but I must warn you, if you make this plea, and we still do the trial. It might go South, and your sentence might go from a 20-year to a life sentence, without patrol. Is that really what you want"?

Lane thought for a moment and says, "What if I said, that the person that turned me in, was going to help me get rid of evidence"?

"That could work, it would depend on who it is".

"Dr. Randolph Bell, was going to help me to get of the evidence".

Her lawyer just looked at her and said, "You don't mean, Dr. Randolph Bell, the CEO of Chastain Memorial Hospital. Do you"?

Lane looked at her and said, "Yes I do mean the Dr. Randolph Bell that is the CEO of Chastain Memorial Hospital".

After her lawyer just looked at her, and is wasn't after she composed her self that she spoke again and said, "so what was your relationship with him"?

"He was my co-worker and that was all", Lane said, lying.

Her lawyer looked at her and said, "Okay, I will do some investigating, to see if that's true or not". Her lawyer said, getting up and walking out of the cell door. However, before she walks out of the cell, she turns around and says, "Lane if I find out that you have been lying to me. I will not be able to help you".

While she watches her lawyer walked down the hall, for the first time Lane was actually afraid what was going to happen.
