~Author's Note~
When Lane gets arrested at the end of Season 1, Episode 14: Total Eclipse of the Heart", she gives a death glare to Randolph, and called him a "SOB". In this one shot, she talks to her lawyer, but what to do.

(No one's POV)
While Lane was waiting in jail for her lawyer to come to the jail to see her. All the while she was waiting, she grew more and more angry, about this situation. She couldn't believe that Randolph had done that. Especially, when he promised her that he would protect her, but then he didn't.
It was hours, and still no sign of her lawyer. Just then a guard come walking past her cell, and she stopped them, and said, "I'm Dr. Lane Hunter, I don't belong here, and will you get my lawyer to come, please"?
The guard looked up at her and said, "So, you think that you have done nothing wrong? Ha. If I had a nickel", he said, walking away.
Lane slumped on the bench in her cell, waiting.
She stayed in jail for a week before any of her lawyers showed up. By then, she had given up all hope of getting a chance of getting out of jail. Her hope began to change when one day one of her lawyers did come to talk with her.
"Oh, Lane", her lawyer said, shaking her hand. "What have you done"?
"I haven't done anything wrong". Lane said.
"Well, the prosecutor, from the states attorney's office thinks differently".
"Well, what do you suggest I do"?
Her lawyer sits down and looks at her, "make a plea deal with the attorney and maybe I can get you a 20 year sentence".
"No I'm not making a plea deal, for I didn't do anything wrong".
"Take that to the judge then, and take it to trial. But Lane, if you loose you will get the 45 years sentence instead".
"Okay, let me think about it".
"Okay, just don't wait. I don't know how long the deal will last", on her way out.
Lane watches her leave. Then she goes back to sit down and goes back to making her decision.
