This is the second installment of this mini one-shot series. This one-shot follows the one-shot entitled, "Lane treated Annabelle (1)". In this one shot installment is when Nic and Conrad do an investigation on Annabelle's case file and figures out if Lane was involved in Annabelle's death also, as well as she was with Lily. (No one's POV)
The next morning Conrad and Nic go onto Chastain's file room and look at Annabelle's file, since Lane Hunter got arrested all of her files were brought back to Chastain and put into their file room.
Conrad and Nic looked at the file and the results were shocking. Lane did do it there too, Annabelle.
"I think she thought if she did this and we just happened to be treating them, then we would be let go", Nic said.
"And when I wasn't. Lane took and misdiagnosed Lily's cancer, and asked you and me to both take over Lily's case in order to get rid of us", Conrad said, contemplating.
Nic and Conrad looked at each other. They were both thinking the same thing. Lane did it with Annabelle then also.

Just to keep in mind, I'm not knowledgeable on Medical ethics, and I know that what I had them do in one-shot might not be what should be done this. This is written for entertainment not based on facts.
That comment about that fact about Lane doing this to get rid of Conrad and Nic. This is based on a theory that I came up with when I was thinking about this chapter. It just got me thinking that maybe Lane felt threatened by how good Conrad and Nic are at there jobs and she didn't care about what she did, in getting rid of them (employment wise).
She thought if she got Nic fired and the fact that she knew that Conrad and Nic were together and that way they would both leave. And, she could go on and do whatever she was doing in her cancer clinic and at Chastain and she wouldn't have never been caught. Anyway it's just a theory.
