Chaptee 16: not long enough

After the birthday, Nathalie and I decided to go eat ice cream and go to my house to have a sleepover. I didn't talk at all and Nathalie was understanding. I wanted to tell Anna about what happened but I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone right now I just wanted time to digest everything and see where I am going.

I was in bed not doing anything and Nathalie was sitting next to me on her phone giving me some time alone to think by myself.

"Seriously Adam." Please don't say his name again.

"What Nat."

"You know who's the new chick?"

"You mean the girl that Adam is currently dating?"

"Ya dumbass who else."

"Just say it Nat who is she."

"She's Kelly." I think I've heard that name before but I can't really remember.

"Who is that Kelly."

"For God's sakes lana, you cant remember Kelly?"  And then it hit me.

"The girl who's friends with Laila and her group?"

"The one and only."

"What the hell he didn't even know her from before how come he's dating her now?"

"He's a dick really like what the hell he knew the girl when you two were dating, which means that he laid his eyes on her when he was in a relationship with you."

"Guess he was waiting for us to break up so he can go get her."

"Yeah maybe."

I didn't really wanted to talk about it, for me it's okay like thank god that he didn't cheat on me with, he just waited until we broke up to go to her, so that's fine with me. It's the feeling what I wasn't worth the time or anything. Instead of overthinking about it like I always do, I decided to sleep and leave my thoughts alone.

I thought I was going to wake up by the light of the sun that was shimmering in the sky making its way into my window, but instead I woke up on hard beating that was coming from the door downstairs.

"Who the hell does that in the morning." Nat began to complain.

"I don't know what a sick freak that came up with the idea of doing that now, it's fucking 9 am."

Nathalie and I went down stairs as there was no one at home today, my parents were at work and my sister and brother were probably out.

" guess who it is." Nat said

"A psychopath who lost his mind and came by my door to murder someone."

"No smartass it's Louis."

"What the hell is he doing here now."

"Guess we are going to find out."

" What the hell guys I kept on ringing the bell for one hour straight."

"Yeah next time don't bother coming when we are sleeping." I am really not a morning person, but I always wished that I could be.

" someone didn't drink their pepsi this morning." Louis eyed me. "Or is it because of yesterday."

"Don't you dare open that up, it's over just drop it Louis." Nathalie defends

"Wow girls I am just saying, you know how much I care about lana I called you 10 times yesterday to see if you're alright."

"Don't worry about it Louis I'm okay." And nathalie shoot me a look that says "sure girl".

"Anyways I came here today to remind you that my birthday is coming up thank you both for remembering that." Oh shit I totally forget, and by Nathalie's face I can tell that she forgot too. We are great bestfriends here.

"What Louis you know we always remember your birthday, I don't know what you're talking about." Smooth Nat.

"Sure Nathalie, so as I was saying I am going to make a little gathering for my birthday don't want anything special."

"Okay see and tell us everything, happy belated birthday bestfriend."

"Thank you lou, I gotta go, talk to you girls later, love you both." And with that Louis went off.

"Do you think Adam will go?"

"I am not sure lana but in the end he's his bestfriend so eventually he will show up one way or another."

"You're right."

Nathalie left an hour later, I was left with my thoughts alone. I was putting the pros and cons of whether to go to the birthday or not. Louis will be very sad if I didn't go.

I went to take a shower and came back finding two missed calls from Laila. Dear god.

"Heyy lana, how is it going." She literally screamed.

"I'm good Laila, so what's up."

"Look you probably know that Louis's birthday is coming up, so I was wondering if we could just make a surprise party, or not really a party but a small gathering for all of us. It can be at a restaurant or something."

"Yeah sure we could, he just came by and told us he doesn't want anything big."

"Wait what? Louis came by to your house today?" Ops someone is jealous now.

"Yeah Nathalie was here also he just left a couple of hours ago."

"Oh of course he did, anyway the surprise birthday will be tomorrow, tell your little group also." Little? Bitch we have more friends more than you do.

I called The whole group at the same time to deliver the news and just so you know they got the same reaction I did.

"So what now, Laila is Louis's girlfriend?" Alexis questioned.

"Not confirmed yet Al." We all said.

"Isn't he like your guy bestfriend, you should both ask him." Referring to Nathalie and I. Hannah if only you knew him.

"It's not that easy Hannah, Louis is not that open up especially when it's about Laila." I said and Nathalie agreed.

"Look guys it doesn't matter if they are dating or not let's just go for his sake and we wont be bothered with Laila." You know in any group there is that girl that always been non gossip person and got nothing to do with anyone despite having a very huge circle of friends. And that was Hailey.

"Okay so let's just meet today at Lana's house because she's near the place and then we could go tomorrow together." Kylie suggested.

Kylie is the one who is close to group "A" girls and to us also, but we all know that she's with us no matter what. She's in their classes since we're little, but still she got into our group really fast.

"Okay I'm going to get drinks and donuts for us." I was so excited for the donuts actually.

"Lana are you sure your parents won't mind?" Hannah asked. The rest of the girls didn't mind actually about that because my house has always been opened to anyone at anytime, so yeah it's okay by me.

"And since when was that a problem Hannah, we literally live at Lana's." Alexis said, and that was true actually.

"Okay guys we'll meet up in two hours don't forget to get your things for tomorrow's birthday." Anna said to wrap it up.

While I was waiting for everyone to show up, I was thinking that everything that has happened is yet simple. He simply fell in love with someone else.
