"Do you have a Halloween costume planned out?" Billy asked me, as we both were walking down the school hallway. Halloween was coming up and I still struggling on finding what to wear. I couldn't go trick or treat with a lame costume.

"I think Steve wanted to go as like a couples costume," I said.
"Oh," Billy replied. "But we're still going trick or treating together? I mean, we've been doing it together for a long time,"

"Is it okay if we bring Steve along?" I replied. Billy didn't respond. "I mean, if we're going as a couples costume, we have to go trick or treating together," I said.

"Yeah, okay," Billy replied with a small smile. Something about that smile made me think, maybe he didn't like Steve.

Billy had his locker a few stalls away from me. We found our lockers and opened them to place our afternoon books in there. Steve had his locker directly next to Billy's due to alphabetical order.

"Hey did you study for Mr Clark's test?" Billy asked me. We haven't been studying today because I've been busy and Billy would ask if he could come over but I've been bailing and I feel really bad now. No, I haven't studied for his test.

"Yeah, I have. I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory." I lied. Billy just nodded. I nervously smiled. He knows I'm lying but I can't tell him I was with Steve doing god knows what, Billy will become very annoyed with my constant "Steve, Steve, Steve!"

I saw Billy put his things away and as he was going to say something, I heard a loud "BOO" behind me. I screamed and turned around. It was Steve.
He quickly looked around and leaned in to give me a small peck on the lips.

"Steve why would you scare me like that!" I said, nudging his shoulder.

"I just wanted to see how'd you react," he smiled flirtatiously at me. I blushed with a smile.
"You're such an idiot," I whispered kindly.

"But you love me anyway," he replied.

"Let me walk you to class," he said, grabbing my arm and pulling it towards him. I kept still.

"Ugh, alright, but it's not my fault if you're late to class again," I replied.
"I won't be late, I am a ninja at getting to class on time," he said.

"Let's go," he pulled me closer to him. I then initiated to walk with him to class. A few steps of my locker, I look over my shoulder to see if Billy was right behind me. He wasn't.

He had left.
