Ya know, I've been on Wattpad for over a year. I know some shit. There's trends on how to be famous. The last trend was "Adopted by a Youtuber stories" where your favorite youtuber can be your "daddy." Now, lately I've noticed a new trend in our little fandom. A trend that takes no effort at all, but still has its effects:

Complaining.

I may sound a tad hypocritical (actually, very) for some reasons:

a: I complain too. Every one complains. It's just in our nature.

b: I'm complaining about complainers.

But some people are just straight up annoying. Then they get get a couple thousand votes on there "rant" book and boom they're famous.

I put "rant" in quotes because that's how people title those complaining books. It's pretty misleading, because a rant has meaning, it's "passionate." A rant can change someone's viewpoint. While complaining, well, it's just annoying and meaningless.

So yeah, people seem to put "rant" in the title of their books, but when I go and look at it it's just them complaining about some shit that happened to them. I mean, fine complain all you want but at least title it correctly.

I love rant books. Really, I do. I love it when someone is so passionate about something and they actually put the effort in to explain what they're passionate about. Like hell yeah, I feel you so hard dude.

If I wanted to hear someone complain, I would go have a conversation with my mother.

If you're thinking "well, Olivia, is this a rant or you just complaining?" I think it's just me complaining to be completely honest. I just hate seeing other people with "rant" books who get thousands of votes and people loving them for it.

Yeah, I know, I'm an asshole but deal with it you twat.

Also, another thing:

So lately I've been seeing how a lot of new people are getting close to big milestones that Wattpad veterans have yet to reach.

"But aye, you shouldnt be complainin because they're better than you"

Well ya see, that's the thing they get most success, from random books.

Sometimes, they don't post more than a single sentence as their chapter. Then, all of a sudden, BOOM! 12 votes on it.

These people barely write or have stopped writing. All their success is purely based on these random book things, it just seems a little unfair to be honest.

Now, you're also probably thinking: "Olivia, you barely update any of your books, and you update this stupid book almost every day."

Yes, you are right there. But let me tell you something: I do it for you guys. When I know I can't update a chapter of a book, I update it here, because I know at least two or three people read this. Believe me, I write almost everyday, and if you think I'm lying, fine. Sometimes I don't feel like writing. Sometimes I get too distracted to write because my attention span is shit. But at least you can tell I try.

Some of these people look like they don't like writing, that they're just doing it for the lols, that they're just here on Wattpad to waste some time. It doesn't really look like they write a good 400-500 words for their chapters. It doesn't look like they're trying.

Do what you want with I just told you. Tell me off. Agree with me. I don't care to be honest.
