Previously on Escape The Night, the guests met a witch finder general, and they helped to free three of his innocent victims from the castle. However, he believed one among them to be in league with the Devil, and she was burned at the stake while her friends watched on.

"This night is just getting a bit much," Lizzie said.
"I don't know how much longer I can do this," Rosanna said.
"Yeah, this has been a tough night," Dan said, "and we forgot to interrogate the Society about what's going on."

Dan - I'm really struggling tonight. I've been possessed multiple times, and the first time it happened I killed Lauren without even knowing what I was doing. Then we have to watch Tiffany burn alive, and the night's not even over yet.

"Let's just do the next challenge, it can't get any worse than this," Willow said, "and at least we freed Shane. The totem piece has lit up."
Lizzie nodded in agreement and picked up the notebook.
"The next lieutenant is the castle chef. He poisoned most of the servant's food and killed them, while the murderer slaughtered the family. He is one of the spirit's most trusted lieutenants because of this act, and he is not to be trifled with," Lizzie read, "he has a few brainwashed servants that he keeps with his as bodyguards, which the spirit gave him."
"So, he's probably in the kitchen with his bodyguards, we could go and find him, see what the challenge is," Mark said.
"It's as good an idea as any," Thomas said. The guests headed to the kitchen, with Alex and Lauren following them.

Mark opened the door to the kitchen, and saw the cook standing there, with two servants standing behind him. However, they noticed the pantry door had been changed from a regular door, to a prison door.

Mark - How did they manage to change the door without us hearing?

"I suppose you're here for the challenge. You may notice the door has two locks. There are two keys hidden around the house, you will find them to release your friends, but my guards will some and capture more of you as you try to win," the chef explained.
"So, we go find they keys?" Willow asked.
"You forgot something. My guards will capture more of you," the chef said. Suddenly, the door slammed shut. Despite their best efforts, the guests couldn't open it.
"Get two of them," the chef said. The guests bunched together, but the bodyguards managed to grab Lilly and Oli. They dragged them, kicking and screaming, to the pantry and shut the door, locking them in.
"If you want to find them, one key is in the garden, the other is in the bell tower, I would wish you luck, but I don't mean it. If you complete the challenges, you will be rewarded with the totem piece," the chef said. The door unlocked and the guests ran out of the door.

———

Rosanna - So, my group are going to the garden to find the key, and this seems like it'll be a little difficult. The garden's pretty huge and there's only four of us.

Willow - As soon as we get to the garden, we see a letter and a tiny chest on the ground, and it seems to be instructions on how to open the chest to get the key.

"First step, there's a locked box in one of the bushes containing the key to unlock the box to get the key to the jail cell," Joel read.
"This is gonna take ages," Mark said.

———

Thomas - I end up with Dan, Phil, Lizzie and Zoe, and we go to the bell tower, so most of us know where we're going.

"There's a box and a note," Lizzie picked up the small chest and letter.
"There's a key to unlock the box in another chest, and this box has the key to the pantry door," Zoe read.
"This is going to involving a lot more unlocking boxes than I was expecting, isn't it?" Dan said.
