The gargoyle sat on his perch, watching the events of the castle. He could see the garden. He saw everything that happened there, almost like a guardian. He saw someone being torn apart by wolves earlier in the night. He saw the atrocities that took place in that garden, but was unfazed. He was only made of stone. The spirit had given him life, and his would come. He would kill one of the guests, happily if he could feel emotions, but not in the way they expected. He watched someone being slashed in the stomach. As the figure fell to the floor, the spirit appeared before him.
"Soon," it said. It vanished, and the gargoyle was left waiting for his time to kill.
