Pulling into the school parking lot, I pull up right beside a brand new black Subaru WRX, not a scratch in place. For a moment, I'm stunned, my rambling best friend long forgotten as I take in the black beauty beside me. Sure I have to look past Zayn, but it's like I don't even see the guy.
Holy smokes, that is one beautiful car.
Pulling the key out of the ignition, I grab my bag from the back seat and get out of the car, my eyes immediately falling on the black Subaru once again. Yesterday I didn't get to catch the driver, but the person who just stepped out of the car was the last person I expected to be driving that black beauty.
Since the windows were tinted, I couldn't make out the driver, but Andrea getting out of the passenger seat to scold Matt should have been a dead giveaway. Seeing Veronica Stone stepping out of the car, my eyes widen. Why am I even surprised?
"That's yours?!" Zayn shouts, scaring the shit out of me. I didn't even know River and Zayn joined me by the front of my car.
Veronica stares at Zayn with a raised brow, looking very confused as to why we're so shocked. Slowly, she turns her head back, looking at her car over her shoulder before turning back to face us.
"Yes?" She answers but even I can hear the confused question.
"Damn! Lets get married!" Zayn whistles, scanning the car like it's the love of his life. I don't blame him, I've always been a fan of cars.
I wiped the impressiveness from my expression, not wanting her know just how impressed I am by her driving a car like that, but judging by the smirk on her face, I think it's a little too late.
In my defense, I've never seen a girl driving such a nice car, let alone look that good standing by the car. She doesn't stand by it to show it off. No, she fucking compliments the car perfectly! She looks like someone who belongs in a fast and furious movie, goodness!
"Nice." Veronica compliments my matte black Dodge Challenger. I look down at me car, pride swelling up inside of me. This car is my life! It's my pride and joy and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Especially since it was a gift from dad. A gift I had to work for and prove myself for, but a gift nevertheless.
"Thanks, yours too." I compliment honestly, even though nice isn't the word I'd use, but she doesn't have to know that.
Just then, Matt appears and pulls on Veronica's arm, a determined look in his eyes. "Lets go before you start getting ideas, Veronica!" Matt drags her away and she starts whining. Ideas about what exactly?
"But I was just looking! You know how I feel about Challengers!" She pouts and I'm taken by surprise. She likes my car? Wait, she even knows what car it is? "They're a challenge." She smirks at Matt who just rolls his eyes, the smile on his lips tells us he isn't really annoyed. Zayn and River both start laughing.
Oh trust me, darling, they're more than a challenge. Something you wouldn't be able to keep up with.
"Knowing you, you weren't just looking! Next thing I know, the two of you are racing down the street!" Matt points out and I bite back a smirk. My boy knows me too well, not like I'd race an unexperienced girl. Granted the car could hold it's end in a race, but the owner, I'm not so sure about. "Say I'm lying?" Matt raises his brow and I'm about to answer when Veronica scoffs. Oh yeah, he wasn't talking to me.
Zayn, the idiot he is, is still very shocked by the car, which is stupid since he's seen a lot of nice cars at the tracks, why this one is any different, is beyond me. Zayn starts begging River to take a photo of him by the cars and I roll my eyes.
River continues to ignore a whining Zayn and a confused Veronica looks over at me so I shake my head, hoping she doesn't ask.
She asks.
