I arrive in my English class before she does.

I drop my bag beside my chair and prop myself on the desk before slipping my phone out of my pocket. The class is still empty, only a few seats being occupied and Mrs. Bath nowhere in the class.

"Hey, Blake." A girly voice greets from in front of me and when I look up from my phone in my hand, I'm greeted by Krissy.

Sighing inwardly, I mentally beg Veronica to hurry up.

"Krissy." I nod, keeping my expression blank. Just then, Riley reaches his desk and drops his bag on the ground beside his chair. "Yo, Riley. How's it going?" I greet, desperately trying to keep a conversation with anyone but this gossip queen beside me.

Riley's eyes widen when he turns to look at me and I smile reassuringly up at him, praying he isn't too scared to actually reply and keep the conversation going until Veronica gets here.

Thankfully, he recovers quickly and offers a small smile in return.

"Hey, Blake. I'm good, how 'bout you?"

"Great, man." I grin and his shoulders visibly relaxes, actually causing me to feel guilty. I should probably stop scaring people.

I open my mouth to ask something, but a different voice speaks, causing me to bite back a growl and clench my jaw.

"Is it true that you dated Tessa?" Krissy suddenly asks, standing a little too close for comfort.

"Yes. Freshman year." I answer, keeping my face blank and her eyes widen.

"So the rumors are true then?" She says but it sounds more like a question. "About Veronica attacking your ex because she was jealous?"

Riley, to my surprise, laughs bitterly, clearly not liking the fact that this girl could think so badly of his crush.

"Of course you'd believe the rumors." He says, rolling his eyes and I almost burst out laughing at Krissy's shocked expression.

I always knew news travels fast within these hallways, but damn did Saturday's events travel fast and it's only Monday second period.

So apparently, Veronica attacked Tessa out of pure jealousy. Some people say that Veronica attacked Tessa because she caught Tessa and I having a conversation and she didn't like seeing my ex and I getting along. So she attacked her.

Then there are people saying that Veronica flirted with Tessa's boyfriend in front of myself and Tessa, and no matter how many times the boyfriend said he wasn't interested she just wouldn't give up, so Tessa tried telling her to back off to which Veronica responded more violently, causing Tessa to swing back in defense.

Tessa rocked up to school sporting a purple bruise covering her left cheek and a broken nose. If she didn't try covering the bruise with makeup, the purple mark on her cheek would be a lot darker.

While all Veronica has is a small cut on her bottom lip. A small cut none of our family members were happy to see. Especially the siblings.

I don't bother answering Krissy because I see movement by the door which catches my attention.

People have been inning and outing ever since I got to class but it's like my body could just feel when she entered a room.

Turning my head to the door, a smile tugs at the corners of my lips, a smile that grows the closer my girl gets.

When she reaches our desk, she tosses her bag onto her chair and I catch the annoyance mixed with jealousy in her eyes and I can only assume it's because Krissy is standing so close to me.
