Even though I knew she wasn't coming to school today, it still sucked not having her there.
The day dragged by slower than a damn snail, making me moodier than usual. Tessa and her posse didn't exactly help.
Tessa, Serena, Scarlett and Stella took full advantage of Veronica's absence, trying to force themselves in our group.
Now, I don't just have Serena on my back, but Tessa too, and sadly none of the girls demanding my attention is the girl I want.
No, the girl I want is currently laying in hospital.
What I wouldn't do to be with her right now.
Second period I didn't bother going to class, knowing that since Veronica isn't in today, Tessa and Serena would force to sit with me, and I really wasn't in the mood for that.
Unfortunately, practice was cancelled today, so I didn't have anything to distract myself after school. I considered going to visit her in hospital, but I don't want to overwhelm her.
She only just found out the truth, maybe she just needs time to process everything, seeing as she hasn't texted or called.
When I get home, Cole and Emily are both sitting in the living room on the carpet as they eat, their eyes glued to the TV in front of them. The two were so engrossed in the TV that they didn't even hear me come in.
I greet the two toddlers before greeting mom with a kiss to the cheek and disappearing to my room. Maybe I should start with my homework and when I'm done I could go make a stop at the hospital.
With that thought in mind, I strip out of my school uniform and slip on a pair of black sweatpants, not bothering with a t-shirt.
I throw myself down on my bed, landing face first with my arms spread out beside me and my legs open.
I am so fucking tired! I groan internally.
I have no idea when was the last time I had a good nights rest and slept right through the night without any nightmares.
When she slept over. That's when. My subconscious reminds me and I sigh.
I hear the doorbell going off but I don't bother moving. Mom can answer the door because that person obviously isn't here for me. None of my friends know how to use the doorbell or fucking knock. They just open the door and walk right in, as if they own the place.
I hear soft footsteps coming up the stairs but I ignore it, thinking maybe it's one of the toddlers but then there's a soft knock on my bedroom door. Oh come on! I was just about to dose off!
Sighing, I force myself off the bed and drag my feet towards the door before swinging it open. When I take in the girl standing in front of me, my eyes widen and suddenly I'm wide awake.
"Veronica?" I call in shock and I watch as pain flashes her eyes at the use of her name.
"Hey." She say softly, looking down at the ground beneath her feet, her fingers fidgeting nervously.
Holy shit! She's here! She's fucking here!
"Uh, you wanna-uh, you wanna come in?" I mentally kick myself for stuttering like an idiot but then I see the amusement in her eyes and I have to fight the smile.
"Sure." She smiles softly and I step aside so that she can enter. Shutting the door, I turn to head towards my bed but then my eyes take in my messy room and I mentally curse myself for not keeping my room clean like I usually do.
Today is just not my day today, is it?
"Sorry for the mess." I apologize when I notice her eyes scanning my messy room, but she doesn't look disgusted by it. She looks more surprised.
