Chapter 12: I Fucked Up!

After all that swimming, the six of us head back to the blankets to satisfy our hungry stomachs. We barely sat down when Matt tosses a wrapped up sandwich at Veronica, who squeals in happiness as she jumps on him and starts kissing him all over his face.

Matt snakes his arms around her waist securely to hold her in place all while she just keeps placing kisses all over his face. With a kiss to her forehead from Matt, she jumps off his lap and starts eating her sandwich.

I didn't understand why that upset me the way it did. They've always been this way, it's not something new, but just seeing them interact this way today made me want to punch someone. And by someone, I mean him.

Some days they act like they're in a relationship and other days Matt's acting like an overprotective big brother. Which is it? Because I'm getting whiplash from this back and forth thing they've got going on.

I'm busy laying on my towel, enjoying the sun and my sandwich, when three girls come walking up to us, openly checking us out. A redhead, a blonde and a brunette, all three fucking hot!

"Hey there." The redhead greets.

They don't even acknowledge the two girls sitting with us, yet Veronica still offera the girl a smile. Andrea, on the other hand, rolls her eyes.

Someone's jealous.

"Hey gorgeous." Matt winks and I immediately look over at Veronica to see her reaction. She doesn't even seem affected, instead she looks like she saw that coming.

"Are these your girlfriends?" The blonde turns and gives Veronica the most disgusted look. Again, Veronica doesn't look affected by this, she just raises a brow at the girl.

"No." I answer immediately, because let's face it, these are most definitely college girls, and I'm loving how hot the redhead is. She looks like a damn model, with her long tanned legs. Her red hair falls down and ends just below her boobs, which are definitely a sight to see. Her hazel eyes liking what they see as they soak up my body.

"Please take your flirting else where. Some of us are trying to eat here and I'd really like my food to stay down!" Veronica's groaning snaps me out of my trance and I glare at her.

Why does she have to be a cockblocker?

The Blonde girl turns and sends Veronica one hard glare before smirking at River.

"Good, you guys wanna hang out with us?" She asks as she reaches out and runs a hand over River's arm.

River takes a step back, causing her hand to fall. "Sorry ladies, but I'm taken." River walks over to Andrea and sits down behind her, his legs resting on each side of her as pulls her down so that her back is resting against his chest. Andrea grins widely and turns her head to the side, pressing a kiss on his lips.

Blondie doesn't look very happy about that, but turns her attention to Zayn who winks at her. Matt already has the Brunette under his arm so I push myself up and walk over to the redhead, smirking down at her as I get closer. A phone ringing stops me and when I turn to check, I see Grayson's name flashing across Veronica's screen, the smirk replaced with a scowl.

"It's Gray." Veronica chips excitedly. "Hey!" She greets happily as she answers the phone, walking away from the rest of us.

"Why's he calling?" I ask, keeping my eyes on a smiling Veronica.

"Beats me." Matt shrugs, not seeming bothered at all.

Veronica rejoins the group with a little bounce in her step.

"And?" Matt asks and Veronica raises a brow at him. "Why'd he call?" He asks, and again, she just raises a brow at him. He mirrors her look.

"Don't you have a ... friend to hang out with?" She asks, putting emphasis on the word friend as she gives him a questioning look and Matt sighs.
