The first thing that came to mind when I woke up is 'this is not my room!' and the second thing is 'the blankets smell like coconut and baby powder'. I was confused for a few seconds before everything that happened last night came rushing back.

I kissed Veronica

And I enjoyed it

A lot more than I'd actually like to admit.

I just laid there, staring up at the ceiling, trying to figure out what the hell I just got myself into. Everything is bound to be awkward again and it will all be because I couldn't control myself!

Well technically it was Matt's fault for giving her that dare in the first place. If it weren't for that stupid dare I wouldn't have gone to bed turned on!

Fuck life!

Just as I am about to get out of bed, something hit me. I'm alone in bed, and Veronica's side of the bed is made up and straightened out. Sighing, I climb out of bed and go to the bathroom to freshen up.

Last night felt like I was sleeping alone. Veronica hardly even moved in her sleep. No, scratch that, she didn't move in her sleep. Like, at all! She sleeps as still as the fucking dead!

Veronica ended up falling asleep before me because for some reason, just knowing she was just a few centimeters away, kept me awake.

I walk out of the bathroom and slide on a pair of gray sweatpants and a loose tank top before fixing my side of the bed and making my way downstairs. The closer I get to the kitchen the more I can hear voices and laughing.

When I reach the kitchen, I find River and Veronica standing in front of the stove. Veronica is already dressed in a high waisted skinny jeans and a white cropped top. Her long hair loose and in waves, ending just above her butt. While River is still in last nights clothes.

Veronica stands in front of the stove, a spatula in her one hand and a pan in the other. River stands beside her with a plate in one hand and maple syrup in the other, grinning widely at her.

"Come on, if you can do this then you are the better cook." River says, grinning as if he already won.

"I'm offended!" Veronica pouts up at River. "You have so little faith in me" Her pout turns into a smirk before she turns to face the stove again. "Watch and learn, babe"

I lean my shoulder against the door frame, watching the two. Veronica flicks the pan up, causing the pancake to fly out of the pan. It flips over once before landing perfectly in the plate River is holding without him having to even move his hand.

River stares down at the pancake with his mouth hanging in shock while Veronica stares at it with a victorious smirk.

"Who's the better cook?" She asks smugly.

River's shoulders slouch and he frowns. "Apparently you are." He sighs, causing Veronica to do a little happy dance. She looks like a kid.

River's frown turns into a warm smile as he watches her, but the way he looks at her is completely different from how he looks at Andrea. It's weird but I don't if I like it.
